Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arturo Cano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Arturo Cano! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jackson Hawk! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Illya Tyunina and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cano throws a solid leg kick but Hawk takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Cano. Cano shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hawk napping and manages to drive through into side control! Hawk tries to buck Cano off but Cano is having none of it. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Hawk is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Hawk is working to avoid the ground and pound but Cano connects with a decent elbow. Cano prevents Hawk from escaping the position. Hawk regains half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hawk wants to control but Cano is keeping busy and won't allow it. Cano looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Cano thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Cano passes into half guard. Hawk is looking to control Cano's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hawk avoid being mounted? Cano is looking for a kimura here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cano won't allow Hawk to get back to his feet. Cano thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Hawk is trying to control the position but Cano postures up. Cano pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hawk is keeping the position for now. Hawk throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hawk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cano. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cano pushes down on Hawk's leg and manages to get into half guard. Hawk has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cano is working away from the top position though. Cano seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hawk does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Cano is trying to work for a kimura but Hawk is defending well.

Cano is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hawk doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cano. Hawk is defending against the submission attempts here by Cano.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hawk is looking for a sweep. Cano is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Hawk tries to clinch but Cano moves out of range. Cano is looking to score with low kicks. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hawk shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Cano manages to regain full guard. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hawk misses with a wild combination.
Hawk is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Cano's half guard. Cano regains full guard. Nicely done. Cano is trying to control the position but Hawk postures up. Cano is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hawk defends well. Cano has his foot on Hawk's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hawk works his way back into a safe position though. Hawk avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hawk throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cano works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hawk got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cano has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hawk has managed to get both his arms back between Cano's legs - danger averted. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hawk trying to control the position from guard on top but Cano is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cano shoots and misses and Hawk counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Hawk is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Hawk seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hawk trying to control the action but Cano is working from the bottom. Cano keeping control of the position. Hawk is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hawk is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Cano to slip a leg under and get back to full guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cano is on top in guard.
Cano sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hawk's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cano is looking to take a break and control but Hawk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cano is looking for a kimura but Hawk is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cano to get the leverage. Cano is looking to advance position but Hawk won't allow it. A close second round but Jackson Hawk will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Cano doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hawk counters with a three punch combo that has Cano backing up. Cano nods at Hawk to acknowledge the strikes. Cano circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cano shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hawk counters with a stiff right hand. Hawk stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cano. Hawk fails with the takedown and Cano counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hawk won't be happy with that. Hawk is trying to improve his position. Hawk takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cano wants to control but Hawk is keeping him busy. Cano tries for a kimura but Hawk is defending well. Cano is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hawk knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Cano thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Hawk gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Hawk is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cano's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cano's back!

Hawk lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Hawk is looking to control Cano but Cano is wriggling around and keeping busy. Cano breaks Hawk's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Arturo Cano showed his dominance in that final round. Well Cano has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
