Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries to clinch there but Payne circles away.
Payne keeps the fight on the outside.

Payne is looking to break free of the clinch but Silva has double underhooks.

Payne decides to stand back up. Payne steps back and let's Silva get back to his feet.

Payne throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Silva was covering up waiting for the punch and Payne finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Payne manages to pass to side control.
Payne is keen to just control but Silva is a slippery customer.
Silva pushes Payne off and gets back to his feet.

and Payne counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Silva wants to get back to his feet but Payne is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Payne wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Silva wants to stand but Payne is controlling the position.
Payne sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Silva's guard.
Silva is staying active underneath Payne, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Silva looks like he's trying to stand up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Payne takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Silva is looking to escape.
Silva tries to kick Payne off in order to stand up. Payne Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Payne closes the distance and pushes Silva back into the cage.
Silva tries to land a knee to the head but Payne blocks with his arms.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Payne scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Payne works to advance to full mount. Silva defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Silva is trying to get back to his feet but Payne has full control of the position and if anything, Silva has just worked his way into a worse spot.
I would not like to be Silva right now.

Payne working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Silva is doing well to defend. Payne seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Silva is forced to tap and this one is over!
