Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henry William French (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Willy Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). French comes to the cage accompanied by Blaze of Glory. Henry William French could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Willy Sanchez's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Henry William French! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Willy Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sanchez throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Sanchez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but French is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. French is trying to control Sanchez's posture but Sanchez avoids it. French holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. French parries the strikes from Sanchez easily there. Sanchez is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable French to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. You can see the frustration on French's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. French is trying to improve his position. Sanchez working the body and head with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez working the ground and pound but French is defending the strikes. The strikes coming from Sanchez are missing the target in this wave of attacks. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. French manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sanchez's best efforts. Sanchez sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. French defending well though. Sanchez thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Sanchez tries to pass to full mount but French defends it. French tries to roll over but Sanchez keeps him under control. French is concentrating on defense, preventing Sanchez from advancing position. Sanchez working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Sanchez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. French is trying to maintain the position but Sanchez is very close to passing his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. French keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. French scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. French chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sanchez can pounce on him.
French rushes Sanchez and presses him up against the cage. Sanchez is trying to work for a single leg takedown but French pulls him back up using the underhooks. French breaks the clinch.

Sanchez shoots for a double leg takedown but French sprawls well. He's pushed Sanchez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. French throws a nice looking combination but Sanchez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Sanchez misses with a low kick. French checks a leg kick. Sanchez slips a jab and a cross from French.

Sanchez misses with a takedown attempt - French sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Henry William French has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Willy Sanchez. French tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

French leaves Sanchez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. French tries to close the distance and clinch but Sanchez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Sanchez goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. French throws a nice looking combination but Sanchez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. A jab lands there for French. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. French throws a jab but it's blocked by Sanchez. No joy there for French, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Sanchez lands a couple of digs. Sanchez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Sanchez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Willy Sanchez dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. French closes the distance and pushes Sanchez back into the cage. Sanchez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as French walks away with a smile on his face. Sanchez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. French swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sanchez counters with a straight right hand. Sanchez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts French as he jumps to the side.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. French scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Sanchez feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to French's calf. French throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sanchez. French looks to clinch and Sanchez counters with a takedown into side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. French is trying to get back to half guard. Sanchez fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Sanchez goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, French has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sanchez but great work by French. French tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no French has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. French thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! French wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sanchez keeps working.

Willy Sanchez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Poor strikes thrown by French there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
