Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mo Cheeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Semenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cheeda comes into the arena with Eye Of the Tiger blaring out of the sound system. Semenko is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Sure Fire Winners. Mo Cheeda has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Semenko shoots in and bounces Cheeda off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Cheeda avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Semenko is looking to work some ground and pound but Cheeda has wrist control.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Semenko has eaten all the pies!
Semenko has gone for a leg lock! Cheeda slips out almost immediately though and dives into Semenko's guard.
Cheeda throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Semenko works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cheeda pushing down on Semenko's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Cheeda is trying to control the action in half guard but Semenko is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Cheeda working over Semenko with some ground and pound. Semenko looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Cheeda is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Semenko doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cheeda.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Semenko throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cheeda's waist but Cheeda gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Semenko off to one side.
Semenko looks gassed!
Semenko tries to clinch but Cheeda is having none of it.

Cheeda is keen to just control but Semenko is a slippery customer.

Still in half guard, Cheeda seems content to control.
Semenko is trying to stand up here but Cheeda is controlling him well.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cheeda accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Cheeda stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Semenko swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cheeda keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Semenko's head.
Cheeda wants to control from the top but Semenko keeps moving.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Semenko misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cheeda.

and Cheeda counters with a nice double leg into side control. Semenko won't be happy with that.
Semenko is not content to let Cheeda control the position.

Cheeda decides to stand back up.
Cheeda drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Cheeda lands an elbow.
Semenko is looking to reverse the position.
Cheeda wants to control but Semenko is keeping him busy.
Cheeda grinds an elbow into Semenko's temple.
Cheeda tries to score with some ground and pound. Semenko controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Semenko is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mo Cheeda dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Cheeda closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Semenko did well to prevent Cheeda getting side control.

Semenko tries to get to full guard but Cheeda has control of the leg.
Semenko throws a strike from the bottom but Cheeda passes into side control!

Semenko is not content to let Cheeda control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Semenko shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cheeda as he jumps to the side.
Cheeda drives through and clinches with Semenko against the cage.
Cheeda gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Cheeda slips a nice elbow through Semenko's hands, connecting with Semenko's forehead.
Cheeda is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Semenko has managed to free his arm - good work.
Semenko is pressing down on Cheeda's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Semenko scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Semenko misses with a takedown attempt
so Cheeda counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cheeda missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Semenko looking for a sweep. Not yet Semenko, not yet.
Semenko is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cheeda defends well.

Semenko is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Cheeda tries to free his leg and advance position but Semenko is retaining full guard.

Mo Cheeda overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cheeda is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Semenko throws a body punch but Cheeda moves out of range.
Cheeda scores with a takedown into Semenko's guard.
Cheeda wants to control from the top but Semenko keeps moving.
Semenko working for a triangle but Cheeda defends it easily.
Semenko had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cheeda is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Semenko Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cheeda's back instead.

Semenko has his arm under Cheeda's chin here. Game over son! Semenko squeezes tightly and Cheeda is forced to tap out!
