Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chulo Valasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Forrest Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Forrest Slice has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chulo Valasquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Forrest Slice! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slice connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. A punch combination from Slice misses. Slice lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Slice takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Slice lands with an uppercut that bounces Valasquez off the cage and back into rage. Valasquez fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Forrest Slice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Valasquez throws a nice outside leg kick. Valasquez fails in his attempt to clinch. Valasquez misses with a double jab
and Slice counters with a right hand to the body. Slice misses with a combination
and Valasquez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Valasquez. This has been an exciting period of action! Slice has momentary wrist control but Valasquez slips an elbow through the middle. Slice has momentary wrist control but Valasquez slips an elbow through the middle. Slice preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Slice keeping full guard, as Valasquez tries to pass. Valasquez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Slice works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valasquez postures up in Slice's guard and throws a big left but Slice blocks it. Valasquez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Valasquez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Valasquez throwing strikes from guard but Slice blocks nicely. Slice is pulling down on Valasquez's head to control his posture.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Valasquez moves out of range of the strikes. A jab from Slice misses. Valasquez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Slice swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Valasquez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Slice won't be happy with that. Valasquez throws a strike aimed at the side of Slice's head but Slice avoids it well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Valasquez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Slice is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valasquez working the ground and pound but Slice is defending the strikes. Valasquez postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Valasquez in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Slice is looking to regain half guard here but Valasquez keeps moving and retains side control. Valasquez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Slice is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Valasquez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Valasquez is breathing heavily. Valasquez sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Slice is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Valasquez takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Valasquez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Slice scores with a jab. Slice throws a nice looking combination but Valasquez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slice fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Valasquez walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Slice changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Slice scores with a decent looking hook. Valasquez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Slice sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Valasquez somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chulo Valasquez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Slice fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Valasquez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Slice looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Slice!
This has been an exciting period of action! Slice lands a glancing blow to the side of Valasquez's head. Slice cracks Valasquez with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Valasquez falls to his knees and Slice doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Forrest Slice!
