And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marco Rudirez!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Daniel Cesar and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cashman tries to clinch up.
Cashman wants to clinch.
Cashman misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rudirez avoids the head kick by Cashman.
Cashman tries to clinch there but Rudirez circles away.

Rudirez clinches with his opponent.
Cashman can't break the clinch.
Cashman has had enough of the clinch but Rudirez keeps him there for the moment.
Cashman avoiding damage as Rudirez throws knees to the body.
Rudirez is leaning against Cashman and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Rudirez stalls.

Rudirez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cashman tries to clinch up

and Rudirez holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Rudirez tries to land knees in the clinch but Cashman avoids the damage to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The is referee keeping an eye on Rudirez - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Rudirez breaks the clinch.
Cashman tries to clinch

and Rudirez counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rudirez.

Rudirez breaks from the clinch.
Cashman moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Rudirez clinches up against the cage.
Rudirez tries to land knees in the clinch but Cashman avoids the damage to the body.
Rudirez crunches a lovely knee into Cashman's ribcage.

Rudirez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cashman tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Rudirez counters with an outside leg kick.
Cashman is breathing heavily.
Cashman closes the distance looking to clinch

and Rudirez moves into the clinch.

Rudirez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Rudirez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Rudirez looking to control but Cashman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Rudirez looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Rudirez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Rudirez is landing with some decent strikes but Cashman is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Rudirez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Rudirez connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Cashman is bucking up trying to escape but Rudirez cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Rudirez working for a guillotine from mount but Cashman is in no mood to give up.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rudirez in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Cashman gets back to half guard.

Cashman looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Rudirez missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Cashman is trying to stand.

Rudirez prevents Cashman from improving his position.
Cashman is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rudirez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rudirez's back!

Cashman is working for a rear naked choke. Rudirez is not defending it well and Cashman has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Rudirez refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Rudirez's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Troy Cashman!
