Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between even DAWSON (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liam Machin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, even DAWSON!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Liam Machin!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machin cracks DAWSON with a good jab.
DAWSON shoots in but Machin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
DAWSON could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
DAWSON feints and then cracks Machin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Machin down.
Machin connects with the punch.
Machin fails with the takedown
and DAWSON counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
DAWSON avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
DAWSON wants to control from the top but Machin keeps moving.
Machin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Machin throws a nice elbow from the bottom.
Machin keeping moving, preventing DAWSON from controlling successfully.
DAWSON sitting in guard here, content to control.
Machin pulls DAWSON in close to prevent any damage.
Machin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
DAWSON trying to control the position from guard on top but Machin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Machin pushes DAWSON off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Machin takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Machin has his takedown stuffed
and DAWSON cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
DAWSON looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Machin!
Machin sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Machin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but DAWSON pulls his head out easily.
Machin looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Machin tries to roll over but DAWSON keeps him under control.
Machin is staying active underneath DAWSON, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Machin looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with DAWSON in particular looking to stall.
Machin is refusing to be controlled, as DAWSON sits in half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Machin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Machin.
Machin trying to strike off his back.
Machin wants to sweep but no luck.
Machin wants to control but DAWSON passes easily into half guard.
Machin looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Machin is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that even DAWSON will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Machin takes a swing at DAWSON's ribcage but misses.
Machin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. DAWSON defends it nicely.
Machin clinches but DAWSON breaks the clinch
and DAWSON counters with a nice leg kick.
DAWSON tries to clinch there but Machin circles away.
Machin wants to land a leg kick but DAWSON is out of range.
Machin stuffs the takedown.
No luck for DAWSON with that takedown attempt.
DAWSON throws a head kick that misses.
Machin swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and DAWSON counters by moving into the clinch.
Machin wants a takedown but no success here.
Machin gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from DAWSON.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for even DAWSON. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A frustrated look appears on DAWSON's face as he tries to break the clinch.
DAWSON misses with an elbow over the top.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Machin drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Machin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Machin wants to clinch
and DAWSON counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Machin with a lazy takedown attempt
and DAWSON counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
DAWSON trying to control from half guard but Machin is working away.
Machin works his way to full guard. Good work.
Machin working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because DAWSON has passed into half guard!
DAWSON seems to be looking for submissions.

Machin trying to control here.
Machin is pressing down on DAWSON's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Machin is looking for a triangle but DAWSON pushes his legs off easily.
DAWSON trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
DAWSON preventing the sweep.
Machin throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

DAWSON is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Machin has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. DAWSON is looking to defend but Machin has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for DAWSON! Machin pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, DAWSON taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Liam Machin!
