Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Willard Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sheraton Paul II (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams comes to the cage accompanied by Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics. Sheraton Paul II will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sheraton Paul II! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Kavanagh and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams misses with a body kick. Williams misses with a double jab.
Williams misses with a low kick. Williams throws a combination. Paul II tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Sheraton Paul II has been cut. Williams misses with a hook. Paul II goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Willard Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Paul II dodges the punch combination from Williams.

and Paul II makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Williams really felt that one! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Paul II tries for a takedown but Williams sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Williams looks to land a left hand but Paul II moved out of range nicely. Paul II closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Williams is trying to maintain the position but Paul II is very close to passing his half guard. Paul II seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Williams does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Paul II blocks the strikes from Williams.

Williams has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Paul II wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving. Williams working a defensive guard here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Williams lands a left and a right that send Paul II crashing to the mat, dazed. Williams thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Paul II is rocked! Paul II shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Willard Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sheraton Paul II. Paul II looks gassed! Williams misses with a looping left. Williams misses with a combination
and Paul II counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Williams's guard now. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Williams trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Paul II avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Williams might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Paul II trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom. Williams throws his legs up looking for a submission but Paul II uses it to pass to side control.
Williams tries to get back to half guard but can't. Williams is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Paul II off and has taken his back! Paul II turns into Williams and is now in his guard.

A jab from Williams misses. Paul II shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Williams is staying active underneath Paul II, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams has his hands clasped together around Paul II's back. He's all about the action. Paul II tries to stand but can't do so whilst Williams controls his leg. Paul II wants to lay and pray for a moment but Williams keeps working. Williams is looking to control Paul II's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Williams avoid being mounted? Paul II blocks the strikes from Williams.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Williams is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Paul II's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Paul II's back! Williams misses with punches from the back. You can see the frustration on Paul II's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Williams connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Paul II to escape the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Willard Williams will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Sheraton Paul II's cut. That's time! Back to the action!

Williams drops Paul II with a beautiful combination! Paul II stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Williams is looking for the KO! Williams fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Paul II drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Paul II decides to stand up, so the ref orders Williams to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Paul II takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

That's one minute gone in the round. Paul II tries to close the distance and clinch but Williams swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Williams looks to throw a body kick and Paul II holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Paul II drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Williams gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That has opened up Sheraton Paul II's cut even more. A frustrated look appears on Williams's face as he tries to break the clinch. Williams lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Paul II. Williams lands with a right to the head. Williams wants to break free but Paul II has control.
Paul II keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Williams's efforts to push away. Williams wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Williams lands with a short head shot on the inside. Williams is trying to force a seperation but Paul II has the dominant position. Williams is working Paul II over against the cage. Williams lands a nice elbow. Williams is looking to break free of the clinch but Paul II has double underhooks. Williams tries to break free but Paul II pushes him back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Williams doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Williams has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Paul II trying to stand up but can't free himself from Williams's guard. Paul II preventing the sweep. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Williams is on top in guard.
Sheraton Paul II has got the better of the ground game so far. Williams postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul II changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Williams tries to avoid it but Paul II manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Williams to the ground. Williams escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Paul II tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Williams swivels and escapes. Paul II fails to land the takedown. Willard Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sheraton Paul II. Williams moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Williams throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Paul II. Williams pivots, looking for a leg kick but Paul II is out of range and Williams settles back down. Williams lands a really nice looking cross but Paul II seems unphased.
Paul II takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Paul II moves out of range of the body kick. Paul II throws a right and a left that both miss. Williams uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Williams misses with a few strikes there.

Sheraton Paul II's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Williams misses with a jab, cross combination.

Paul II is trying to control the action in half guard but Williams is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Paul II not landing any meaningful shots this time. Williams wants to improve his position but Paul II is controlling well.

He's managed to get a loose triangle. Paul II doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Paul II manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Williams looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Paul II thows a big elbow that misses. Paul II thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Williams not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Williams. Paul II shoots for a takedown but Williams saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Williams rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Paul II moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Paul II closes this distance looking for a takedown but Williams circles away. Williams tests Paul II's chin there with a solid looking shot. Willard Williams is winning the standup battle so far. Williams throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

And that's the end of the fight! Willard Williams showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Williams, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
