Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Martin Bruni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Travoltares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Travoltares!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruni throws a right and a left that both miss.

Bruni fails in his attempt to clinch.
Bruni tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Bruni misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bruni shoots in but Travoltares avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Travoltares dodges the punch combination from Bruni.
Bruni misses with a wild combination.
Bruni misses with a kick to the body.
Travoltares misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bruni misses with a jab, cross combination.

Travoltares keeps control of the position for the meantime.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Travoltares wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Bruni tries to stand but Travoltares is controlling from the bottom.

Travoltares is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Travoltares has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bruni can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bruni slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bruni postures up.
Travoltares is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Travoltares is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Despite being in the dominant position, John Travoltares just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Martin Bruni will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Travoltares throws a nice looking combination but Bruni bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Travoltares in particular looking to stall.

Bruni throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Travoltares on the side of the head.

Travoltares is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Bruni pulls him back up using the underhooks.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Travoltares postures up in Bruni's guard and throws a big left but Bruni blocks it.

John Travoltares showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Travoltares shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bruni as he avoids it easily.
Bruni throws a combination. Travoltares tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Bruni shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Travoltares pinned against the cage. Travoltares gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Travoltares counters with a head kick. That will keep Bruni thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Travoltares looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Bruni gets the takedown into side control.

Bruni decides to stand back up. Bruni steps back and let's Travoltares get back to his feet.
Bruni closes the distance but Travoltares moves to the side

Bruni regains half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Travoltares thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bruni's head.

Bruni has hold of Travoltares's hands but Travoltares slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Travoltares comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Travoltares has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
