Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Butch Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sammy Alpaca!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Alpaca tries to clinch but Smith is having none of it.
Smith has a takedown stuffed.
Alpaca keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alpaca fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Smith has managed to clinch.
Alpaca blocking some punches.

Smith is pressed up against the cage. Alpaca has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Smith down to the mat. Smith avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Alpaca looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Smith knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alpaca on the ground.
Alpaca is trying to control the action in half guard but Smith is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Alpaca seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Smith is staying active underneath Alpaca, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Alpaca throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Alpaca slips a nice elbow through Smith's hands, connecting with Smith's forehead.

The referee warns Smith that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith is in a horrible position here. Alpaca smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Alpaca lands a big shot there that rocks Smith but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Alpaca is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Alpaca is landing with some decent strikes but Smith is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Alpaca postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Smith looks a forlorn figure.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith wants to get back to his feet.
Alpaca throwing shots but Smith is blocking nicely.
Alpaca not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Alpaca working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith is in trouble now - Alpaca has advanced to mount!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sammy Alpaca dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Smith moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Smith gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Alpaca counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Alpaca.
Smith is trying to break the clinch but Alpaca has him pressed against the cage.
Alpaca prevents Smith from breaking the clinch.
Smith tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Alpaca jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Smith walks away with a smile on his face. Alpaca gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Smith has his takedown stuffed
and Alpaca counters with a shoot takedown. Smith fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Butch Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Alpaca pushing down on Smith's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Alpaca looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Sammy Alpaca has got the better of the ground game so far.

Smith is looking for a sweep. Alpaca is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Smith is trying to maintain the position but Alpaca is very close to passing his half guard.
Alpaca looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Alpaca uses his free foot to push down on Smith's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Smith.
Smith has left one of his arms exposed and Alpaca doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Smith screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
