Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Deer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Romero! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romero throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Nice uppercut there from Deer.
It looks like George Romero has been cut. Deer dodges the punch combination from Romero.
Deer instigates a clinch. Deer jumps guard and drags Romero to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Romero thows a big elbow that misses. Deer wants to stand and escape but Romero is having none of it. Deer scrambles and gets back to his feet.
George Romero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Deer throws a head kick but Romero moves out of range.
Romero is looking to clinch. Romero looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Deer keeping moving, preventing Romero from controlling successfully. Deer had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Romero is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Deer Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Romero's back instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero wants to get back to his feet. Romero staying busy and making it hard for Deer to control. Romero covering up well under a series of strikes from Deer. Deer trying to control momentarily.
Deer just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Romero covering up well under a barage of strikes. Romero won't enjoy being in this position. Deer looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Romero is tapping - it's over boys! Deer picks up the submission victory!
