Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Norifume Nissei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vin Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Norifume Nissei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vin Soto!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soto circles away from the clinch attempt.

Nissei closes the distance and clinches.

Nissei breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Nissei is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Soto's half guard.
Nissei throwing shots but Soto is blocking nicely.
Soto moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Nissei avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Soto looking for a sweep. Not yet Soto, not yet.
Nissei is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Soto is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nissei defends well.

Soto throws his legs up looking for a submission but Nissei uses it to pass to side control.

Nissei wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Soto, who protects the arm well.
Soto tries to bench press Nissei off him but Nissei keeps the position.

Nissei stands up.

Nissei drives through and clinches with Soto against the cage.
Soto fails to pull guard.

Nissei breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nissei throws a head kick that misses.
Soto shoots in for a takedown but Nissei shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Nissei closes the distance and pushes Soto back into the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Soto jumps guard but Nissei stands there with Soto around his waist. Soto gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Norifume Nissei has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vin Soto.
Soto is trying to force a seperation but Nissei has the dominant position.
Soto fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Nissei controlling the action here for a moment.

Nissei lands a damaging elbow.


That has opened up Vin Soto's cut even more.

Nissei manages to break the clinch.
Nissei pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Nissei moves into range and clinches up with Soto.
Nissei lands with a right to the head.
Soto wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Nissei throws a knee to the head but misses.
Nissei tries to land knees in the clinch but Soto avoids the damage to the body.
Nissei is breathing heavily.

Nissei keeping moving, preventing Soto from controlling successfully.

Soto drops back, looking for a kneebar! Nissei looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Nissei looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Nissei!
Nissei blocks the strikes from Soto.
You can see the frustration on Soto's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Nissei throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Nissei decides to stand back up. Nissei steps back and let's Soto get back to his feet.
Soto keeps the fight on the outside.
Nissei fails in his attempt to clinch.
Soto slaps away a takedown attempt from Nissei, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Soto shoots in but no luck this time.
Soto tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nissei swivels and escapes.
Nissei tries to clinch there but Soto circles away.
Soto misses with a takedown
and Nissei counters with a head kick.
Soto takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

and Nissei counters with a head kick. That will keep Soto thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Soto is defended easily by Nissei.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Soto shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nissei sprawls well. Nissei wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Soto gets slowly back to his feet.
Soto tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nissei sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Soto somewhat.
Nissei tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Soto paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Norifume Nissei is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Nissei tries to clinch there but Soto circles away.
Soto keeps the fight on the outside.

Nissei has closed the distance and engaged Soto in a clinch.
Nissei with a knee to the head.
Soto is trying to break free.
Soto jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nissei walks away with a smile on his face. Soto gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Norifume Nissei has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vin Soto.
Soto avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Horrible takedown by Soto or perhaps it was just good defense by Nissei which made him look bad.
Nissei tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nissei tries to clinch up but Soto circles away and keeps his distance.

Soto tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nissei sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Soto somewhat.

Soto lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Nissei hang on?
Nissei tries to hold on but Soto pushes him away.

Soto is going olschool here, as he tries to force Nissei to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Nissei shrugs it off.

Soto is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Nissei has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Soto looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Soto is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Nissei can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Soto is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Nissei has managed to escape the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vin Soto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Soto will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Nissei clinches with his opponent.
Soto fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Nissei escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Nissei forces Soto back against the cage and clinches.
Nissei lands a left hand that snaps the head of Soto backwards.

Nissei manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Nissei wants to stand up but Soto is controlling him.
Soto trying to control the position from guard on top but Nissei is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Nissei working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Soto.
Soto throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Vin Soto has got the better of the ground game so far.
Soto trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Nissei manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Soto looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Soto is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Nissei gets to his feet. Soto looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Nissei looks to clinch

and Soto counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Nissei!
Nissei wants to hold on but Soto pushes him away.

Soto has hold of Nissei's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Nissei manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Soto is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Nissei has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Nissei!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Soto had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Nissei is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Soto Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Nissei's back instead.
Nissei tries to escape the position.

Soto is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Nissei has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Soto has got one arm under Nissei's chin. This could be trouble... Nissei trying to control the other hand but Soto gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Nissei has tapped out! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Vin Soto!
