Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gomi Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryo Chonin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie's entrance music is Wait and Bleed. A fine choice. Ryo Chonin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gomi Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryo Chonin!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chonin misses with a series of wild punches.

Gracie scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Chonin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gracie tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Gracie decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Gracie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Chonin's guard.

Chonin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gracie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Chonin as he avoids it easily.
Gracie throws out a leg kick but Chonin moves out of range and Gracie only half commits.
Chonin throws a series of punches but Gracie avoids them all with ease.

Chonin lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Chonin throws a series of punches but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch but Chonin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gracie moves forwards but Chonin connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Chonin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gracie looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Ryo Chonin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Chonin throws a one two combo.
Chonin lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Chonin looks to land a combination. Gracie sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Chonin throws a nice looking combination but Gracie bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Chonin scores with a one two! Gracie had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Chonin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gracie is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Chonin.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gracie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Chonin's guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Gracie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Chonin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gracie wants to stand but Chonin is controlling his posture from full guard.
Chonin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chonin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Chonin misses with a few strikes there.
Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Chonin circles away.
Chonin throws a head kick but Gracie moves out of range.
Chonin swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Gracie.
Ryo Chonin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gracie dodges the punch combination from Chonin.
Gracie slips a jab and a cross from Chonin.
Chonin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gracie moves in looking to clinch but Chonin pushes him off.
Chonin throws a series of punches but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Chonin throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease.

Horrible takedown by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Chonin which made him look bad.
Chonin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Chonin uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Chonin clobbers Gracie with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Gracie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gracie lands in his opponent's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Chonin misses with a two punch combination.
Chonin goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Chonin is working the combinations to good effect here.
Gracie gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Gracie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gracie lands in his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryo Chonin dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Gracie takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Chonin keeps the fight on the outside.

Gracie darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Gomi Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Chonin wants to improve his position but Gracie is controlling well.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gracie in particular looking to stall.
Gracie has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Chonin tries to hold on but Gracie postures up.
Gracie throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Chonin can't escape the position.
Poor strikes thrown by Gracie there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
