Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and D Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Richard Jenkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, D Day!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day shoots for a double leg takedown but Jenkins sprawls well. He's pushed Day's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Day shoots in but Jenkins avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Day looks for a takedown but Jenkins sprawls well.
Richard Jenkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of D Day.

Jenkins closes the distance and clinches.
Jenkins scores a nice knee to the body.
Jenkins is pressed up against the cage. Day has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jenkins down to the mat. Jenkins avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Day looks gassed!
Day shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jenkins defends it nicely.

Jenkins gets the takedown into side control.
Day tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Jenkins really is a fat lump.

Jenkins wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Day, who protects the arm well.
Day tries to buck Jenkins off but Jenkins is having none of it.

Day on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Jenkins lands a few punches from side control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Jenkins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Day is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Day is pushing Jenkins's head away, looking to escape. Jenkins manages to hold on to the position though.

Day throws Jenkins to one side and escapes!

Jenkins closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Day did well to prevent Jenkins getting side control.

Jenkins is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Day sees it coming and defends easily.

Day tries to roll over but Jenkins keeps him under control.

Day has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jenkins is working away from the top position though.

Jenkins is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Day has one foot on Jenkins's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Day with a poor takedown

and Jenkins counters with a nice double leg into side control. Day won't be happy with that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jenkins decides to stand up, so the ref orders Day to his feet.

and Jenkins counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Jenkins postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jenkins trying to stand up but can't free himself from Day's guard.
Jenkins knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Day on the ground.

Day not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jenkins avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jenkins preventing the sweep.
Day controls Jenkins momentarily but Jenkins frees himself.
Jenkins postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Jenkins lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Day keeping full guard, as Jenkins tries to pass.
Day trying to control the position.
Jenkins working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Day manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Jenkins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Day is looking to work his way around to Jenkins's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Day with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Day wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Richard Jenkins dominated that round.
That's time! Jenkins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Day misses with a takedown

and Jenkins counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Day!

Jenkins has control of Day's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Day regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Day gets back to half guard.
Day regains full guard. Nicely done.
Day is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Day looking for a guillotine here but Jenkins defends easily.

Day has his foot on Jenkins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jenkins works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jenkins won't allow Day to sweep him here.

Jenkins drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jenkins jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Day kicks Jenkins off and gets to his feet.

Day bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Jenkins is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Day is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Day has escaped and now he's on top!

Day is looking to take a break and control but Jenkins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

and Jenkins counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jenkins.

Jenkins drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Day gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Day lands a takedown into guard.
D Day has got the better of the ground game so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Day is looking to advance position but Jenkins has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

D Day showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Jenkins wants to stand but Day is controlling his posture from full guard.

Jenkins drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Day dives on top into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Day decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jenkins, up you get!
Day fails with the takedown

and Jenkins counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Day tries to roll over but Jenkins keeps him under control.
Ground and pound from Jenkins.
Jenkins trying to control from half guard but Day is working away.
Day makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Day.
Jenkins loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Jenkins has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Day to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Jenkins is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Day pulls down on the head and he's put Jenkins to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). D Day!
