Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drago Yahams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Konrad Janik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Drago Yahams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Konrad Janik!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Janik looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Yahams is fending him off so far but Janik persists. Nope, Yahams circles away and we're back to standing.
Yahams throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Yahams throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Yahams throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Janik on the side of the head.
Janik fails to land the takedown.
Janik uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Yahams.
Horrible takedown by Janik or perhaps it was just good defense by Yahams which made him look bad.
Drago Yahams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Konrad Janik.

Janik shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Janik prevents Yahams from improving his position.
Yahams tries to kick Janik off in order to stand up. Janik Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Yahams is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Janik is controlling him well.
Yahams tries to buck Janik off but Janik is having none of it.

Janik tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Janik has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Yahams manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Janik tries to roll over but Yahams keeps him under control.
Yahams wants to stand but Janik has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Janik wants to improve his position but Yahams is controlling well.
Yahams controlling the pace.
Yahams has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Janik tries to improve his position but instead Yahams has taken his back!
What can Janik do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Yahams lands a head shot.
Yahams has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
The fight stays on the outside here - Yahams looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Yahams looks to land a combination but Janik avoids it well.
Yahams wants to clinch.
Yahams tries to clinch but Janik moves out of range.
Janik fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Yahams scores with the left hand. Janik knows he should have avoided that one.
Janik takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Yahams takes a swing at Janik's ribcage but misses.
Yahams fails with an attempt to clinch.

Yahams wants to clinch.
Janik shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Yahams sprawls well. Yahams wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Janik gets slowly back to his feet.
The crowd cheers as Yahams lands an impressive looking overhand right. Janik doesn't seem phased though.
Yahams tries to clinch up but Janik circles away and keeps his distance.

Janik ducks straight into an uppercut from Yahams and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Janik manages to regain guard straight away.


Janik is rocked!
Janik looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Yahams puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Janik is breathing heavily.

Janik wants to get back to full guard.
Yahams moves nicely into side control.
Yahams advances to mount.
Yahams sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Yahams is standing up, even though he is in mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Yahams displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Janik.
Drago Yahams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Konrad Janik.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Yahams stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Yahams wants it to stay on the feet.
Yahams is looking to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Drago Yahams dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Yahams drives through and clinches with Janik against the cage.
Janik throws an elbow that misses.

Yahams decides to pull guard.

Janik is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Yahams is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Yahams has escaped and now he's on top!

Yahams stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Janik takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yahams lands a jab to Janik's midsection.

Yahams moves into range and clinches up with Janik.
Janik pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Yahams working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Janik is working Yahams over against the cage.
Yahams scores with a shoulder strike.
Yahams blocks an elbow strike from Janik.

Yahams decides to pull guard.

Yahams has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Janik can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Janik passes Yahams's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Yahams manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Yahams looking for a sweep. Not yet Yahams, not yet.
Janik looking to pass the guard.

Yahams looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Yahams escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Janik gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Yahams wants to improve his position but instead Janik has moved into half guard.

Janik is looking for a kimura but Yahams is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Janik to get the leverage.
Yahams regains full guard. Nicely done.

Janik is sitting in close to Yahams's body. Yahams has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Janik is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Janik is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Yahams.
