Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Don Syd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spanky Houser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Syd comes to the cage accompanied by Poisen. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Don Syd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Spanky Houser!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Syd feints and as Houser raises his hands in defense, Syd changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Houser is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Houser trying to keep a closed guard but Syd is proving a slippery customer.
Syd thows a big elbow that misses.
Houser looking to hit a scissor sweep but Syd is one step ahead there.
Syd is looking to work some ground and pound but Houser has wrist control.
Houser pulls Syd in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Houser avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Houser seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Houser shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Houser was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Houser jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Syd is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Syd and Houser has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Houser creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Houser just content to control the position.
Syd tries to buck Houser off but Houser is having none of it.

Syd is trying to control Houser's posture but Houser avoids it.

The referee asks Houser politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Houser prefers to stall for the moment though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Syd is breathing heavily.

Houser content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Houser decides to stand up, so the ref orders Syd to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Houser looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Houser is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Syd!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Houser tries to close the distance and clinch but Syd swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Syd throws a nice outside leg kick.
Syd gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Houser stands up and waves to Syd to follow him.
Syd fails with the takedown
and Houser counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Houser seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Syd throws a head kick but Houser moves out of range.

Houser changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Syd looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Houser controls the position from side control.
Syd is looking for a sweep.
Houser stands up.
Houser scores a takedown into full mount!

Spanky Houser has got the better of the ground game so far.

Houser takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Despite being in the dominant position, Spanky Houser just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Houser gets a clinch.
Houser fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Houser tries for a takedown but Syd manages to get underhooks.
Houser gets control of Syd's arms and successfully pulls guard. Houser will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Houser pushes Syd off and scrambles back to his feet.
Houser throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Houser drives through and clinches with Syd against the cage.
Houser drags the fight down to the ground.

Syd would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Houser has his feet on Syd's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Houser scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Houser pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Houser throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Syd was covering up waiting for the punch and Houser finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Spanky Houser showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Syd uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Houser.

Houser sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Syd's guard.

Houser stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Syd to get to his feet.
Houser takes the fight into the clinch.
Don Syd has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Houser has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Houser has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Syd avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Houser has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Syd uses from the top position.

Syd is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Let's hope that Houser has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Spanky Houser is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Syd escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Houser gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

I've got Houser winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
