Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Julius Peppers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cedric Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peppers comes into the arena with Day N Nite-Kid Cudi blaring out of the sound system. Steele has chosen Ironman as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peppers blocks the body kick.
Peppers chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Peppers ducks under a wild hook from Steele.
Peppers misses with a straight right.
Steele misses with a wild combination.
Julius Peppers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peppers scoring well with a low kick there.
Peppers feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Steele's calf.
Peppers throws a leg kick which misses Steele's front leg but catches the back leg as Steele tries to avoid it.

Peppers fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Steele, pushing him back against the cage.

Peppers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Peppers shoots in for a takedown but Steele shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Peppers shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Steele pinned against the cage. Steele gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Steele lands a left and a right that send Peppers crashing to the mat, dazed. Steele thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Peppers is looking to take a break and control but Steele is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Peppers thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Steele is staying active underneath Peppers, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Peppers moves out of range of the body kick.
Peppers throws out a leg kick but Steele moves out of range and Peppers only half commits.
Steele misses with a jab, cross combination.
Steele leaves Peppers with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Julius Peppers. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Peppers plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Cedric Steele is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Peppers closes the distance and clinches up with Steele, looking for a takedown. Peppers pushes Steele against the cage but Steele circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Steele connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Peppers will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

and Steele counters with a crisp one two that drops Peppers! Steele thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Peppers to his feet! Peppers is in big trouble!
Steele displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Peppers throws out the jab.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Peppers wants to slow Steele down by chopping away at his legs.
Steele stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Steele wants it to stay on the feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
