Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Smith Bellamy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Veneracion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Veneracion's choice of entrance music: faint. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Smith Bellamy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karl Veneracion! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Bellamy finds it's way through Veneracion's defenses. Veneracion closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bellamy to the mat! Bellamy manages to get full guard. Veneracion throwing strikes but missing. Veneracion working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Veneracion scoring with punches to the head and body. Bellamy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bellamy tries to get out of the position. Veneracion wants to control from the top but Bellamy keeps moving. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Veneracion's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Veneracion pushes down on Bellamy's leg and manages to get into half guard. Veneracion stops Bellamy from getting back to his feet.
Veneracion throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Veneracion looks to land a strike but Bellamy avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bellamy working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Veneracion. Veneracion stands and steps away. Bellamy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Bellamy takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Veneracion moves out of range of the body kick. Bellamy pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Veneracion takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Veneracion tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bellamy throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Veneracion ducks right into an uppercut from Bellamy. Bellamy gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Veneracion to score an easy takedown into full guard. Bellamy being controlled here, momentarily. Veneracion trying to control but Bellamy is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bellamy avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Veneracionis looking to pass into half guard but Bellamy pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Bellamy is in guard. Veneracion is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bellamy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Veneracion throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Veneracion wants to sweep here but Bellamy controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bellamy lands a glancing blow to the side of Veneracion's head. Bellamy is breathing heavily. Bellamy looks to land a right hand but Veneracion moved out of range. Veneracion fails to land the takedown. Veneracion fails to land the takedown. Bellamy moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Bellamy throws a series of punches but Veneracion moves out of range. Veneracion moves out of range as Bellamy throws a body kick.
Veneracion shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Veneracion seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Veneracion is working for a submission of some sort.
Veneracion is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bellamy is just riding it out for now. Veneracion eventually gives up the hold. Bellamy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Veneracion on the ground. Bellamy is trying to stand back up but Veneracion is controlling him
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Karl Veneracion dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Veneracion shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bellamy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Veneracion tries to free his leg and advance position but Bellamy is retaining full guard. Veneracion with a flurry of punches that miss. Veneracion loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Veneracion thows a big elbow that misses. Veneracion gets to his feet - Bellamy follows without any prompting. Veneracion dodges the punch combination from Bellamy.
Bellamy throws a shot from downtown. Veneracion moves away and avoids it. Veneracion tries to clinch there but Bellamy circles away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Veneracion drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Veneracion scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Veneracion wants to control from the top but Bellamy keeps moving. Bellamy wants to stand but Veneracion is controlling the position. Veneracion works a leg free and moves into half guard. Veneracion is looking for a kimura here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Veneracion decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Bellamy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Veneracion closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bellamy circles away. Veneracion closes the distance and clinches up with Bellamy, looking for a takedown. Veneracion pushes Bellamy against the cage but Bellamy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bellamy throws a right hand that Veneracion ducks under and follows up with a left that Veneracion also avoids with ease. Veneracion shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Smith Bellamy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karl Veneracion. Veneracion shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Veneracion shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bellamy sprawls well. Bellamy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Veneracion gets slowly back to his feet. Bellamy throws a jab but it's blocked by Veneracion. Veneracion defending well as Bellamy loads up on a big left hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Veneracion. Smith Bellamy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A jab from Bellamy misses. A jab from Veneracion finds it's way through Bellamy's defenses. Nice sprawl there from Bellamy as Veneracion shoots in. Bellamy thows a left - swing and a miss! Bellamy misses the jab. Veneracion shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Veneracion was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Bellamy's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Veneracion working Bellamy over with strikes here. BOOM! Veneracion connects with a massive shot to the dome!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Veneracion has control of Bellamy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bellamy regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Veneracion moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bellamy has worked his arm free - good work by Bellamy!

Karl Veneracion showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Bellamy has his takedown stuffed and Veneracion counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Veneracion trying to control but Bellamy is working from the bottom. Veneracion landing with the ground and pound. Veneracion slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Veneracion working the ground and pound from side control. Veneracion is working Bellamy over with some ground and pound from side control. Veneracion is trying to get an arm triangle but Bellamy is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Veneracion creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Bellamy sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Veneracion has knee on belly momentarily but Bellamy bucks him off and regains half guard. Bellamy tries to kick Veneracion off but Veneracion keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Veneracion missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Veneracion is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Veneracion swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
