The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ronan looks to score with a jab to the body but Maddox is just out of range.
Ronan misses with a head kick.
Diesel Maddox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maddox tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Ronan misses with an uppercut.

Maddox fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ronan sprawls well initially but Maddox persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Maddox is pressing down on Ronan's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ronan is holding on for now.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Ronan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Ronan tries to roll over but Maddox keeps him under control.

Maddox is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Ronan rolls with it to try and escape but Maddox cranks on the arm and Ronan is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
