Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Muchacho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Groyce Racie!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muchacho decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Racie gets back to full guard.
Racie tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Racie has his foot on Muchacho's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Muchacho works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Racie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Muchacho manages to get himself to full guard.
Racie trying to control but Muchacho is working from the bottom.
Muchacho looking to hit a scissor sweep but Racie is one step ahead there.
Muchacho has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Racie has passed into side control.
Muchacho struggling a bit here.
Muchacho gets back to half guard.
Muchacho trying to control but Racie postures up.
Racie prevents Muchacho from improving his position.

Muchacho slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Muchacho is breathing heavily.
Muchacho is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Racie slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Racie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Muchacho is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Racie wants to control but Muchacho is keeping him busy.
Racie tries for a kimura but Muchacho is defending well.
Racie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Muchacho is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.

Muchacho can't do much from the bottom here.
Racie trying to control the action but Muchacho is working from the bottom.
Racie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Racie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Muchacho sneaks back into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Racie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Muchacho doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Racie.
Muchacho tries to roll over but Racie keeps him under control.
Muchacho manages to get to full guard.

Racie pushing down on Muchacho's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Racie is looking for a kimura but Muchacho is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Racie to get the leverage.
Muchacho makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Muchacho.
Racie won't allow Muchacho to sweep him here.
Racie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Muchacho is keeping the position for now.
Racie passes Muchacho's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Muchacho is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Muchacho looking for submissions off his back.
Racie uses his free foot to push down on Muchacho's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Muchacho.
BOOM! Racie connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Racie with the ground and pound from mount.

Muchacho defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Racie.
Racie manages to capitalize on a mistake by Muchacho to take his back!
Muchacho is trying to defend against the choke here but Racie has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Racie Tightens the hold and Muchacho taps out furiously! Racie displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Groyce Racie!
