Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Harri Sirkkeli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Kos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Josh Kos told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Josh Kos! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sirkkeli takes a swing at Kos's ribcage but misses. Sirkkeli throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sirkkeli slips a jab from Kos. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kos is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Sirkkeli looking for a guillotine here but Kos defends easily.

Kos keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sirkkeli's head. Sirkkeli is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kos defends well.

Sirkkeli Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kos's back instead. Sirkkeli has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Kos holding both Sirkkeli 's hands and preventing any damage. Sirkkeli patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Harri Sirkkeli will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Kos is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The fighters are battling for position here. Sirkkeli manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Kos lands a couple of decent looking shots.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sirkkeli accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sirkkeli trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Sirkkeli throws a body punch but Kos moves out of range. Sirkkeli drives through with a takedown into guard. Sirkkeli works over Kos with some ground and pound from guard. Sirkkeli wants to control from the top but Kos keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sirkkeli pushes down on Kos's leg and manages to get into half guard. Sirkkeli seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Sirkkeli is looking to advance position but Kos won't allow it.
