Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexandros Nicolaou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nectar Light (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nicolaou comes to the cage accompanied by Anubis. Light has chosen Throat! as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Light shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nicolaou as he jumps to the side.

Nectar Light seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Light looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nicolaou will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

A looping hook to the body misses from Light. Nicolaou does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nicolaou drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Light stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Light wants it to stay on the feet.
Light throws a series of punches but Nicolaou avoids them all with ease.
Nicolaou fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Light, pushing him back against the cage.
Nicolaou has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Light avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Light tries to pull guard but Nicolaou won't allow it.
Light wants to break the clinch but can't.
Light prevents the takedown attempt.
Light misses with a punch on the inside.
Nicolaou fails to pull guard.

Light changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Nicolaou fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Nicolaou counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Light avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nicolaou shoots in looking for a takedown. Light tries to sprawl out of it but Nicolaou keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Light manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Light is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Nicolaou tries a head kick but it misses.
Light misses with an attempted mid kick.
Light misses with the combination.
A right-left combo lands from Light.
Light throws a right and a left that Nicolaou avoids nicely.
Light misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nicolaou shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Light as he jumps to the side.
Nicolaou avoids the head kick by Light.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Light darts in trying to clinch
and Nicolaou counters by clinching up.
Nicolaou drops down looking for an ankle pick but Light pulls his leg out and moves away.
Light tries a head kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Nicolaou's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Light misses with a double jab.
Horrible takedown by Nicolaou or perhaps it was just good defense by Light which made him look bad.
Light fails with the takedown.
Nicolaou drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Nicolaou wants to control from the top but Light keeps moving.
Nicolaou drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nicolaou jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Light lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Nicolaou!

Light is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Nicolaou can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Nicolaou is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Light jumps into side control!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Light is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Nicolaou's shoulder. That is not cool.
Light gets to mount! Nicolaou was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Light moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Nicolaou wants to sweep but no luck.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nicolaou fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Nicolaou sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Nicolaou can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Light is looking to escape.

Nicolaou throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Nicolaou counters with an outside leg kick.
Alexandros Nicolaou has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nectar Light.
Light feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Nicolaou is trying to keep Light in close.
Light must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

I would just about give that final round to Nectar Light.
I've got Light winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
