Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vjay Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Villanueva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Vjay Cruz has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Vjay Cruz seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villanueva closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Villanueva missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Cruz is trying to stand up here but Villanueva is controlling him well.
Villanueva lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Cruz manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Villanueva moves into range and clinches up with Cruz.
Villanueva is working Cruz over against the cage.
A looping hook to the body misses from Villanueva. Cruz does a little dance to reset his feet.
Villanueva closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Cruz did well to prevent Villanueva getting side control.
Villanueva thows an elbow strike that misses. Cruz gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Villanueva doesn't seem too bothered but Cruz quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Villanueva is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Villanueva really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Vjay Cruz!
