Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Poison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Poison has chosen Kanye West - Amazing as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Phil Poison!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams tries to clinch up.
Poison swats away the attempt to clinch by Williams.

Williams connects with a nasty looking knee right to Poison's face.


It looks like Phil Poison has been cut.
Williams throws a knee to the head but misses.
Poison tries to pull guard but Williams won't allow it.
Williams lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Williams - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Poison is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Poison drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and Williams holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Poison has had enough of the clinch but Williams keeps him there for the moment.
Poison tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Williams just stands there and leans against the cage.

Poison can't break the clinch.

Poison jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Williams walks away with a smile on his face. Poison gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Phil Poison has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Poison is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Matt Williams is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Poison looks for a takedown but Williams sprawls well.
