The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monroe wants to clinch up but Huerta keeps it at a distance.
Monroe shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Huerta manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Monroe trying to control the position from guard on top but Huerta is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Monroe might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Huerta kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Dan Huerta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Monroe shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Huerta as he avoids it easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Huerta throws a series of punches but Monroe avoids them all with ease.

Huerta stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Huerta wants it to stay on the feet.

Huerta lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Monroe circles away quickly and effectively.

Monroe shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Huerta defends it nicely.
Monroe fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Huerta sprawls well initially but Monroe persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Monroe is keen to just control but Huerta is a slippery customer.
