Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Yardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tito Ortega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Yardy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tito Ortega! The judges for this bout are , and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ortega scores with a three punch combo!
Ortega pushes Yardy up against the cage in a clinch. Yardy misses with some punches.
Ortega takes a shot to the head.
It looks like Tito Ortega has been cut. Ortega fails to pull the fight into his guard.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Yardy. A head punch on the inside from Yardy fails to land. Yardy misses with a hook from the clinch. Ortega lands a body punch in the clinch. Ortega is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Ortega tries to break free but Yardy pushes him back against the cage. Yardy swings wildly with an uppercut but Ortega uses good head movement to avoid it. Ortega is working for takedown but Yardy is calmly controlling the position for now. Dan Yardy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tito Ortega. Ortega pulls guard effortlessly. Ortega kicks Yardy off and gets to his feet. Ortega shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Ortega unloads with some shots from mount but Yardy bucks and avoids them well.
Ortega lands a nice shot to the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Ortega has hold of Yardy's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Yardy manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Ortega throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Yardy because Ortega loaded up on that one. Ortega lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Yardy manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Yardy, under a barage of strikes from Ortega.
Ortega thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Yardy's head. Ortega throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Ortega working Yardy over with strikes. Ortega looks to land a strike but Yardy avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ortega is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Yardy is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Yardy has escaped and now he's on top! Yardy is breathing heavily. Ortega is looking for a triangle but Yardy pushes his legs off easily.
Yardy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Ortega manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Yardy is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Ortega throwing strikes but Yardy recovers to half guard. A much better position. Ortega looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ortega is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Yardy is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Ortega drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Ortega wants to break free but Yardy has control.
Yardy keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ortega's efforts to push away. Yardy misses with a hook from the clinch. Ortega has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Yardy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Yardy lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Ortega backwards. Ortega wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Ortega wants to get back to striking at distance but Yardy won't allow it.

Yardy wants to clinch but Ortega slips to the side and Ortega counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Yardy! Yardy tries to buck Ortega off but he can't manage it. Ortega gets slowly back to his feet. Yardy wants to clinch but Ortega slips to the side and Ortega counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Yardy is defending against the submission attempts here by Ortega.

Yardy is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Yardy avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Tito Ortega has got the better of the ground game so far. Ortega throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ortega prevents Yardy from getting back to his feet. Ortega is working Yardy over from the guard. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ortega clinches. Ortega ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ortega no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Ortega looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yardy is one step ahead there. Ortega is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Yardy wants to stand but Ortega has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Ortega uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Ortega closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Yardy did well to prevent Ortega getting side control.

Ortega looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Tito Ortega showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Tito Ortega's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Ortega postures up in Yardy's guard and throws a big left but Yardy blocks it. Ortega throwing strikes but missing. Ortega connects with a couple of short punches. Ortega throws a big right hand that misses. Yardy is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Ortega blocks a punch to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ortega is looking to reverse the position. Yardy decides to take the fight back to the feet. Ortega misses with a low kick.
Tito Ortega is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Yardy closes the distance but Ortega moves to the side and Ortega counters with a shoot takedown. Yardy fights it but they end up in guard. Ortega in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. Yardy is looking to stand up but Ortega isn't so interested in that idea. Ortega is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Ortega thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Ortega looking to pass the guard. Ortega looking to sit in guard and control but Yardy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ortega has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Yardy is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Ortega.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Ortega is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Yardy is controlling him well. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ortega can do anything to dispel that myth. Ortega is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Yardy is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Ortega wants to hold on but Yardy pushes him away. Ortega wants to try and get back to his feet. Ortega is working to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Tito Ortega comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ortega has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
