Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hector Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerald Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Rush. No joy for Mendez on that attempt.
Rush gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mendez to score an easy takedown into full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Mendez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rush sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mendez somewhat.
Mendez tries to close the distance and clinch but Rush swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mendez will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Rush up against the cage.
Mendez could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mendez is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rush pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Mendez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Rush pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hector Mendez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hector Mendez.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mendez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
