Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rudolph Carnage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Merlin Yngve ! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yngve tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carnage swats him away and circles back towards the center. Yngve moves in looking to clinch but Carnage pushes him off. Carnage rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Yngve moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Yngve throws a wild body kick that Carnage sees coming a mile off. Yngve swats away the attempt to clinch by Carnage. Carnage misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Yngve looks to throw the jab but Carnage is out of range. Carnage circles away from the clinch attempt and Carnage decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Yngve 's guard. Carnage preventing the sweep. Carnage throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Yngve keeping full guard, as Carnage tries to pass. Carnage passes Yngve 's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yngve trying to control but Carnage postures up.
Carnage tries to pass to full mount but Yngve defends it. Carnage is taking a breather. Yngve says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Carnage wants to lay and pray for a moment but Yngve keeps working. Carnage thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Yngve kicks off Carnage and gets to his feet. Yngve closes the distance looking to clinch and Carnage moves into the clinch. Carnage's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Carnage misses with a looping left. Yngve doesn't succeed with the takedown and Carnage counters by moving into the clinch. Carnage pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Carnage drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Yngve is trying to keep Carnage in close.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Carnage trying to control the position from guard on top but Yngve is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yngve throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Yngve working a defensive guard here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Yngve looks to clinch and Carnage counters by clinching up. Yngve tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Carnage smiles and moves away.
Yngve gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Carnage to score an easy takedown into full guard. Carnage throwing strikes but missing. Yngve tries to land a sweep but no joy. Yngve keeping moving, preventing Carnage from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rudolph Carnage dominated that round. That's time! Carnage's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Carnage lands a slapping body shot.
Yngve has his takedown stuffed and Carnage counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Carnage. Carnage's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Yngve tries to break free but Carnage pushes him back against the cage. Carnage has picked Yngve up - he's going for a ride! Carnage dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Carnage wants to lay and pray for a moment but Yngve keeps working. Yngve scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Carnage manages to mount him!
Yngve is breathing heavily. Carnage looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carnage pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Carnage looking to control and managing it successfully. Carnage working for a submission but Yngve is keeping him at bay. Carnage looking to control but Yngve is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Carnage looking to finish Yngve with some ground and pound. This is bad for Yngve !
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee warns Yngve that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Yngve is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Carnage content just to control the position here. Yngve tries to get back to half guard but can't. Carnage wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carnage thowing shots but they're missing. Yngve tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yngve wants to hold on but Carnage pushes him away. Carnage tries to control but Yngve wriggling away. Carnage is standing up, even though he is in mount. Carnage rushes Yngve and presses him up against the cage. Yngve fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Carnage breaks from the clinch.
Carnage connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yngve doesn't succeed with the takedown and Carnage counters with a three punch combo that has Yngve backing up. Yngve nods at Carnage to acknowledge the strikes. Rudolph Carnage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Merlin Yngve . Carnage darts in and clinches Yngve up against the cage. Carnage is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Yngve can't fight it off and eventually Carnage manages to take the fight to the floor. Yngve looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Carnage passes Yngve 's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Yngve avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Carnage. Carnage moves into full mount! Yngve won't be happy about that! Carnage looking to control and managing it successfully. Yngve tries to reverse the position but Carnage maintains control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rudolph Carnage dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Carnage is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Yngve 's half guard. Yngve avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Carnage. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Carnage in particular looking to stall. Carnage trying to control the action but Yngve is working from the bottom. Yngve gets back to full guard.
Yngve wants to sweep here but Carnage controlling him for the moment. Carnage wants to control from the top but Yngve keeps moving. Yngve takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yngve utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Carnage trying to stand up but can't free himself from Yngve 's guard. Carnage wants to control from the top but Yngve keeps moving. Carnage postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Yngve is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Carnage, into his guard. Carnage looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yngve is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Carnage is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Yngve is controlling him. Carnage looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Yngve postures up in Carnage's guard and throws a big left but Carnage blocks it. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Yngve accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rudolph Carnage overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Carnage looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yngve preventing the sweep.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Yngve shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Carnage counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Carnage. Carnage changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Yngve fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Rudolph Carnage is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Yngve wants a takedown.
Yngve misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Carnage.
Yngve is trying to break the clinch but Carnage is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Yngve tries to pull guard but Carnage won't allow it.

Carnage drives through and clinches with Yngve against the cage.

Carnage breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A nice leg kick lands there from Carnage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carnage throws a head kick but Yngve moves out of range.
Carnage gets in close and instigates a clinch. Merlin Yngve has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Carnage breaks from the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Rudolph Carnage showed his dominance in that final round. Well Carnage has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
