Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Rice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Idris Omar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Omar's choice of entrance music: adu-kein scherz. The key to victory for John Rice has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Omar misses with a hook.
Omar tries to close the distance and clinch but Rice swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Omar misses with a few strikes there.
Rice lands with a nice combination. Omar backs away looking to recover.
Omar takes a swing at Rice's ribcage but misses.
Omar blocks a head kick by Rice.
Omar looks for the body kick but Rice saw that one coming.
Rice will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Omar pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Omar throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rice stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Rice fails to land with a series of punches.
Rice throws a series of strikes that have Omar backpedaling.

Rice lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Rice dodges the punch combination from Omar.
John Rice is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Omar blocks a head kick by Rice.
Omar shoots in for a takedown but Rice shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Idris Omar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rice throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

and Omar counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rice thinking.
Rice walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

and Rice counters with a big head kick but Omar shrugs it off.
Omar thuds a left hand into Rice's body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Omar throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rice was covering up waiting for the punch and Omar finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Omar tries to free his leg and advance position but Rice is retaining full guard.
Rice wants to get back to his feet but Omar is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Omar with a flurry of punches that miss.
Omar works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Omar winds up and cracks Rice with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Rice looks like he's trying to stand up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rice won't allow Omar to pass to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rice wants to get back to his feet.
Omar is looking to advance position but Rice won't allow it.
Rice is looking to get back to is feet but Omar passes into side control.
Omar is working Rice over with some ground and pound from side control.
The ground and pound from Omar seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Rice throws a left and a right that both miss
and Omar counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Omar.
Omar stops Rice from standing up.
Rice trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Omar passes into half guard.
Omar passes to full mount!
Rice wants to try and get back to his feet.

Omar with a couple of short strikes.
Omar lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Rice hang on?
Omar is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Omar extends the arm and Rice is forced to tap!
