Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dell Trotter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vic Rains (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rains has chosen Thunder & Lightning as his entrance music. Dell Trotter has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Vic Rains!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rains throws a looping overhand right but Trotter ducks down to avoid it.
Trotter looks for a takedown but Rains sprawls well.
Rains misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Trotter.
Trotter moves in looking to clinch but Rains pushes him off.
Rains avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Nice jab there from Trotter.
Jab from Rains.
Trotter tries to clinch up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trotter throws a predictable looking body shot
letting Rains counter with a right hand.
Trotter throws a hook to the side of Rains's head but Rains sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
The fighters circling - Rains throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Trotter is looking to clinch.
Trotter dodges the punch combination from Rains.
Trotter uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rains.
Vic Rains is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Trotter misses with an uppercut.
Trotter throws an overhand right that lands on Rains's shoulder, as Rains tries to avoid the shot.
Rains ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Trotter just misses with a punch to the body.
Rains takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Trotter looks to land a right hand but Rains moved out of range.
Rains keeps the fight on the outside.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Trotter throws a shot from downtown. Rains moves away and avoids it.
Trotter misses with a series of wild punches.
Trotter throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rains steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Trotter.
A jab from Rains misses.
A left and a right from Rains both land. Nice combination.
Nice body punch from Rains.

Rains looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rains wants to stand up but Trotter is controlling the position.

Trotter makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Trotter.
Trotter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rains wants to stand back up but Trotter manages to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rains throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Trotter misses with a looping right.
Trotter throws a hook but Rains blocks it.
Rains fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Rains moves forwards but Trotter connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Rains stalks Trotter and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Trotter's face. Trotter staggers backwards, shaken.
Trotter misses with a hook to the body
and Rains counters with a straight right hand.
Rains slips a straight right by Trotter.
Rains gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Trotter looks to land a left hand but Rains moved out of range nicely.
Rains swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Trotter moves away from the strike by Rains.
Trotter getting the better of the striking in that exchange.


It looks like Vic Rains has been cut.
Trotter throws and low kick but Rains moves out of range easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Vic Rains will probably get the nod.

Rains scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Rains lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Trotter shoots in looking for a takedown. Rains tries to sprawl out of it but Trotter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rains manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rains connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Rains displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Trotter.
Dell Trotter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Trotter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rains circles away quickly and effectively.

Trotter takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Trotter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rains lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Trotter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rains tries to avoid it but Trotter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rains to the ground. Rains escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Rains wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Trotter closes the distance and clinches up with Rains, looking for a takedown. Trotter pushes Rains against the cage but Rains circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rains fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Trotter has a takedown stuffed.
Trotter has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rains finds it's way round the side to connect with Trotter's head.

Rains lands a really nice looking cross but Trotter seems unphased.

Trotter moves away from the strike by Rains.
Trotter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Rains ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Trotter. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Rains smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Trotter throws a right hand that Rains ducks under and follows up with a left that Rains also avoids with ease.

Rains falls off balance throwing a combination
and Trotter counters with a three punch combo that has Rains backing up. Rains nods at Trotter to acknowledge the strikes.
Rains throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Trotter.

Vic Rains seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Trotter takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Trotter looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rains is fending him off so far but Trotter persists. Nope, Rains circles away and we're back to standing.
Trotter looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Vic Rains is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Trotter takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Vic Rains comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rains has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
