Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gordan Vukovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mateo Tomassi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gordan Vukovic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vukovic throws a sloppy head kick and Tomassi moves out of range easily.
Vukovic throws a series of strikes that have Tomassi backpedaling.
It looks like Mateo Tomassi has been cut.
Vukovic shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vukovic throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Vukovic is trying to control. Tomassi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Tomassi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Vukovic counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Vukovic got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tomassi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vukovic has managed to get both his arms back between Tomassi's legs - danger averted.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Vukovic tries to clinch up but Tomassi circles away and keeps his distance.
Tomassi darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Tomassi slips a nice elbow through Vukovic's hands, connecting with Vukovic's forehead.
Vukovic wants to get back to full guard.
Tomassi stands up out of the half guard.
Vukovic shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Tomassi.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Tomassi controls the position from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tomassi lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Vukovic down.
Vukovic seems a little lost for a moment, as Tomassi dominates the positioning.

Tomassi stands up and beckons Vukovic to his feet.
Tomassi thumps Vukovic with a low kick.

Tomassi shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vukovic's guard.

Vukovic looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tomassi is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vukovic wants to get back to his feet but Tomassi is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Tomassi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vukovic paws at him with a jab and circles away.
No joy there for Tomassi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A slow jab from Vukovic misses its intended target.
Vukovic keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tomassi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vukovic pinned against the cage. Vukovic gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Vukovic scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Vukovic wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vukovic tries to clinch but Tomassi is having none of it.
Tomassi closes the distance looking to clinch
and Vukovic counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tomassi won't be happy with that.

Vukovic laying and praying for a moment but Tomassi takes advantage and regains half guard.
Tomassi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vukovic is working away from the top position though.
Tomassi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Tomassi looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Tomassi has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Tomassi lands an upkick as Vukovic stands over him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Vukovic content to stall in guard here.
Tomassi is trying to control the position but Vukovic postures up.
Tomassi tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Tomassi manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Vukovic has his takedown stuffed
and Tomassi counters with a head kick.

Vukovic throws a right and a left that both miss.
Tomassi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Tomassi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Vukovic swivels and escapes.
Vukovic shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Tomassi counters with a takedown into side control.
Tomassi advances to mount.
Tomassi connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Vukovic has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Tomassi's lack of action.
Tomassi moves into full mount! Vukovic won't be happy about that!

Tomassi trying to control but Vukovic is having none of it.
Tomassi sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Gordan Vukovic will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Mateo Tomassi's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Tomassi shoots in and drives through. Vukovic sprawls well.
Vukovic doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Tomassi counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Vukovic!
Tomassi lands a big elbow.
Vukovic is bucking up trying to escape but Tomassi cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Vukovic is trying to stand but he's just given Tomassi his back.
Vukovic looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Tomassi is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Vukovic up.
A lull in the action here.
Tomassi lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Vukovic hold on?!

I would not like to be Vukovic right now.
Vukovic prevents Tomassi from getting a body triangle.
Vukovic covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Tomassi tries to get the hooks in deep but Vukovic pushed the leg off.
Vukovic tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Vukovic is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Tomassi in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Tomassi looking to control but Vukovic is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Vukovic tries to strike from the bottom but he's left himself exposed and Tomassi has taken his back.
Vukovic won't enjoy being in this position. Tomassi looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Vukovic is tapping - it's over boys! Tomassi picks up the submission victory!
