Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Irv Goldman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Irv Goldman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Irv Goldman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Torres! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goldman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Torres circles away. Torres scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Goldman is looking to regain half guard here but Torres keeps moving and retains side control. Torres is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Goldman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Torres tries for a kimura but Goldman is defending well. Torres wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Goldman, who protects the arm well. Goldman wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Goldman has one of Torres's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Torres tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Torres has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Torres is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Goldman has escaped the position, nice work there.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Goldman has his takedown stuffed and Torres counters with a nice double leg into side control. Goldman won't be happy with that. Torres is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Goldman is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Goldman is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Torres is controlling him well.

Goldman has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Goldman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Torres tries to escape but Goldman has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Torres turns into Goldman and is now in his guard.
Goldman is pulling down on Torres's head. It's preventing any offense from Torres, at least for the moment. Torres won't allow Goldman to sweep him here. Torres trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Torres postures up.
Torres drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Goldman manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Torres has Goldman in his guard. Goldman trying to control the position from guard on top but Torres is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Torres throws his legs up looking for a submission but Goldman uses it to pass to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Torres is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Goldman trying to control the action but Torres is working from the bottom. Goldman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Torres is just riding it out for now. Goldman eventually gives up the hold. Torres looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Torres tries to get to full guard but Goldman has control of the leg. Goldman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Torres keeps working. Torres looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Torres dominated that round. That's time! Goldman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Goldman misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Goldman with a lazy takedown attempt and Torres counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Goldman looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Torres drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Goldman dives on top into guard. Goldman controlling from the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goldman tries to free his leg and advance position but Torres is retaining full guard. Torres isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Goldman stacks Torres on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Goldman! Goldman wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Torres, who protects the arm well. Torres is not content to let Goldman control the position. Torres is looking to reverse the position. Goldman is working Torres over with some ground and pound from side control. Josh Torres has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Torres is looking for a sweep. Goldman trying to control the action but Torres is working from the bottom. Goldman passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Torres! Goldman sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Torres is trying to reverse the position but instead Goldman has taken his back - oops! Goldman connects with a big shot to the side of Torres's head.
Goldman controlling well, preventing Torres from escaping the position.
Torres is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Torres is breathing heavily. Torres fending off the submission attempt from Goldman. Goldman is trying to stick to Torres's back but Torres is turning into Goldman. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Goldman's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Torres.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Goldman looking for a guillotine here but Torres defends easily.
Torres is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Goldman is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Goldman has escaped and now he's on top! Goldman thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Torres has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Goldman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Goldman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Torres has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Goldman has managed to get both his arms back between Torres's legs - danger averted.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Torres is looking for a triangle but Goldman pushes his legs off easily.
Goldman forces his way into half guard. Goldman missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Goldman connects with a nice short shot to Torres's temple. Goldman moves into full mount! Torres won't be happy about that! Torres tries to reverse the position but Goldman maintains control. Goldman with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Torres is in all sorts of trouble here.
Torres wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Goldman is working for a rear naked choke. Torres is not defending it well and Goldman has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Torres refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Torres's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
