Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Remote Control (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Acker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Remote Control has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Remote Control! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Arthur Acker! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Acker fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Acker leaves Control with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Acker shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Acker looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Control regains full guard. Nicely done. Control is trying to control the position but Acker postures up. Control is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Acker is controlling him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Control can't keep his opponent in guard - Acker advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Control keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Acker thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Control's head. Control tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Acker scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Control is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Control scores with a few weak punches. Control throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Acker is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Acker looks gassed! Control is trying to get back to full guard. Acker uses his free foot to push down on Control's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Control. Acker has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Control tries to get back to half guard but can't. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Acker is going olschool here, as he tries to force Control to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Control shrugs it off. Acker prevents Control from getting the reversal. Control tries to lock up and control but Acker gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Control sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Control is defending against the submission attempts here by Acker.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Control bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Acker's guard. Acker is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Control is aware though and is defending well. Control wants to control from the top but Acker keeps moving. Control working some strikes from top position. Control missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Acker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Control raining down shots from the mount! Control trying to control but he's not successful this time. Control lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Arthur Acker dominated that round. That's time! Control's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Acker slips nicely into half guard. Control is looking to control Acker's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Control avoid being mounted? Acker is trying to work for a kimura but Control is defending well.

Acker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Control gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Control scoring with some ground and pound.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Acker can do anything to dispel that myth. Control landing with the ground and pound. Acker throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Acker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Control is one step ahead there. Control is working Acker over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Acker controls Control momentarily but Control frees himself.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Acker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Control swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Acker has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Control finds it's way round the side to connect with Acker's head. Acker shoots and misses and Control decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Acker's guard. Control scoring with punches to the head and body. Control throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Control in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Control trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Acker utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Acker lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Control! Control wants to get back to his feet.

Control sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Control tries to roll over but Acker keeps him under control. Control blocking the ground and pound attempt from Acker. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Control is aware though and is defending well. Remote Control overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Control pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Acker is keeping the position for now. Control with a nice head shot there. Control with a flurry of punches that miss. Acker looking for a guillotine here but Control defends easily.

Control doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Acker. Acker is looking for a kimura but Control is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Acker to get the leverage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Acker tries for a takedown but Control circles away easily and Control counters with a single leg into guard. Acker didn't expect that. Remote Control has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arthur Acker. Acker wants to sweep but no luck. Acker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Control doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Control manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Control makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Control's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Control landing some decent shots from guard. Acker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Control is one step ahead there. Control lands a couple of elbows. Control postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Acker shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Control's guard. Acker thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Control manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Acker manages to get himself to full guard.
Control lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Control throws a big right hand that misses. Control throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Acker works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Control stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Acker swivels though and keeps the full guard. Acker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Control can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Acker has momentary wrist control but Control slips an elbow through the middle. Control scoring with punches to the head and body.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Remote Control. Well Control has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
