The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strauss shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jones napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Strauss working away.
Strauss controlling the position.
Strauss decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Strauss moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Jones thows a body shot but no joy.
Strauss avoids a punch combination nicely.

Jones wants to improve his position but Strauss is controlling well.

Jones is squirming around, avoiding Strauss's attempts to control the action.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Strauss unloads with some shots from mount but Jones bucks and avoids them well.

Strauss can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape.

Jones pulls Strauss in close to his closed guard and prevents Strauss from doing any damage or advancing position.

Strauss wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Strauss throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.

and Strauss decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jones's guard.

Andrew Strauss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
