Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Herbie Hide (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Herbie Hide! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Hammer! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hide scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Hide trying to control the action but Hammer is working from the bottom. Hammer is looking to reverse the position. Hide is trying to ground and pound but Hammer uses the momentary lack of control by Hide to regain half guard. Hammer wants to control but Hide is keeping busy.
Hide is taking a breather. Hammer says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Hide is looking to advance position but Hammer won't allow it. Hide perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Hammer is trying to maintain the position but Hide is very close to passing his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammer is refusing to be controlled, as Hide sits in half guard. Hide throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Hide is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Hide closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hammer to the mat! Hammer manages to get full guard. Hide wants to pass the guard but Hammer is keeping the position. Hide passes Hammer's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Hammer manages to get to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hide controls the pace. Hammer looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hide trying to control the position from guard on top but Hammer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hammer working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hide. Hide controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Hammer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hammer is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Hide pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hammer is keeping the position for now. Hide sitting in guard, not really doing much. Hide tries to free his leg and advance position but Hammer is retaining full guard. Hide is looking to work some ground and pound but Hammer has wrist control. Hammer is trying to control the position but Hide postures up. Hide has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hide looking to sit in guard and control but Hammer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hammer tries to free his leg and advance position but Hide is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Donk. Hide catches Hammer right on the button with a cross. Hammer fails with the takedown and Hide counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hammer! Hide can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hammer is looking to escape. Hide takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Herbie Hide dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hammer tries for a takedown but Hide circles away easily so Hide counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hammer is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Hide wants to control from the top but Hammer keeps moving. Hide throwing strikes but missing. Hammer keeping moving, preventing Hide from controlling successfully. Hide trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hammer looking for a sweep. Not yet Hammer, not yet. Hide content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hide working some strikes from top position. Hide trying to control but Hammer is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hammer had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hide is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hammer Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hide's back instead. Hammer is breathing heavily. Hide defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Hide looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hide rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Hammer seems to be working for a kimura but Hide defends the submission attempt.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hammer shoots and misses and Hide counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hide. Hide slips nicely into half guard. Hide lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hide slows the pace down in half guard. Hide's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hide scoring with strikes to the body and head. Hide has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Hide controlling from mount. Hide can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hammer is looking to escape. Hide fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Herbie Hide dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Hide misses with a wild combination.
Hide shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hide showed some decent athleticism there. Hide is thwarting Hammer's attempts to control the position. Hide is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Hide with the ground and pound from mount. Hide pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Hide trying to control but he's not successful this time. Hide landing strikes from the mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hide working the ground and pound effectively.
Hammer is trying desperately to improve position. Hide raining down shots from the mount! Hammer in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Hammer is squirming around, avoiding Hide's attempts to control the action. Hammer is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hide content just to control the position here. Hide with good strikes from the mount here! Hammer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hide takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Hide looking to control but Hammer is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Hide looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Hide wants to control the pace but Hammer is squirming around nicely.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Herbie Hide just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Hide bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Hide wants to control but Hammer is keeping him busy. Hide tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Hide throws a strike aimed at the side of Hammer's head but Hammer avoids it well. Herbie Hide overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hide creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hammer sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Hide throwing shots but missing, from side control. Hammer parries the strikes from Hide easily there. Hide is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hammer to escape.
Hide content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Hammer is looking to reverse the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hammer with a lazy takedown attempt and Hide counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hammer! Hammer is in all sorts of trouble here.
Hammer wants to hold on but Hide pushes him away. BOOM! Hide connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Hide scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Hide sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that's the end of the fight! Herbie Hide showed his dominance in that final round. Well Hide has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
