PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Comet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Virtua Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Virtua Bird told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Virtua Bird!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Comet tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bird is able to avoid easily.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Comet lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bird has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bird and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Comet thows a body shot but no joy.
Comet tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bird was well out of range. Poor timing from Comet.
A nice inside leg kick there by Comet. That's going to slow Bird down.
Bird is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A big right from Comet misses.
Comet just misses with a punch to the body.

Comet lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Virtua Bird has been cut.
Comet lands a head kick. Bird smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Comet lands a big head kick that sends Bird tumbling to the mat! Comet takes a step backwards and waves Bird back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bird wants to clinch.
Comet throws a head kick but Bird moves out of range.

Comet tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bird paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Comet misses with a looping right.
Bird closes the distance looking to clinch
and Comet counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Bird thinking.
Bird darts in trying to clinch
and Comet counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Bird is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Comet fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Bird square on the jaw! Damn, Bird is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
