Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Danker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ricardo Danker is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jackson Souza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Danker!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza tries for a takedown but Danker sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Danker gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Souza counters with a takedown into side control.
Danker is trying to control Souza's posture but Souza avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Souza scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Danker to see if he's OK.
Souza tries for a kimura but Danker is defending well.
Souza trying to control the position but Danker is working away.
Souza is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Danker is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Danker is trying to buck Souza off.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Danker gets to his feet - Souza follows without any prompting.
Danker turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Danker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Souza to the mat! Souza manages to get full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Danker tries for a takedown but Souza circles away easily
and Souza counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Danker's guard now.
Danker tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Souza postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Souza stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Danker swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Danker shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Souza napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Souza can't do much from the bottom here.

Danker is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Souza is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Danker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Souza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Danker lands with a slapping head kick.
Danker clinches up with Souza and pushes him back against the cage.
Souza is trying to drag Danker to the mat but Danker just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
A head punch on the inside from Danker fails to land.

Danker tries to pull guard but Souza holds him up against the cage and eventually Danker drops back down to his feet.
Danker is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Souza gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Jackson Souza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Danker.

Danker tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Souza just stands there and leans against the cage.
Danker is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

and Souza counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Danker wants to sweep here but Souza controlling him for the moment.
Souza drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Danker manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Souza has Danker in his guard.
Souza is working an open guard so Danker takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Danker has taken the fight to the clinch.
Danker is pressed up against the cage. Souza has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Danker down to the mat. Danker avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jackson Souza will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Ricardo Danker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Danker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
