Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brett Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Glick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brett Thomas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Glick! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Glick throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Thomas was covering up waiting for the punch and Glick finishes the takedown easily into guard. Glick wants to control from the top but Thomas keeps moving. Glick stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thomas swivels though and keeps the full guard. Glick is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Thomas is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Thomas has escaped and now he's on top! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Glick looking for a guillotine here but Thomas defends easily.
Glick is trying to control the position but Thomas postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Glick keeping moving, preventing Thomas from controlling successfully. Glick is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Thomas advances position into side control! Glick is trying to control Thomas's posture but Thomas avoids it. Glick tries to get back to half guard but can't. Thomas is trying to get an arm triangle but Glick is defending well. Glick wants to control but Thomas postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. An elbow from Thomas crashes against the mat.
Thomas stands up and beckons Glick to his feet. Glick throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Thomas shoots and misses and Glick decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Thomas's guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Glick postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Glick must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Glick trying to control but Thomas is working from the bottom. Glick got a little sloppy there for a moment and Thomas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Glick has managed to get both his arms back between Thomas's legs - danger averted. Thomas is breathing heavily.

Glick with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Glick stopping the sweep attempt from Thomas. Glick keeping moving, preventing Thomas from controlling successfully. Thomas wants to pass the guard but Glick is keeping the position. Glick working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thomas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thomas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Glick preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Thomas trying to control but Glick is working from the bottom. Glick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thomas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Glick looking to control.

Thomas tries to get to full guard but Glick has control of the leg. Glick is looking for a kimura but Thomas is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Glick to get the leverage. Glick is looking to stall here but Thomas recovers full guard. Glick got a little sloppy there for a moment and Thomas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Glick has managed to get both his arms back between Thomas's legs - danger averted. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Thomas keeping moving, preventing Glick from controlling successfully. Glick postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas wants to stand and escape but Glick is having none of it. Thomas isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Glick stacks Thomas on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Glick! Glick is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Thomas is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Glick lands a decent elbow from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Glick is looking to take a break and control but Thomas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Josh Glick has got the better of the ground game so far. Glick is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Thomas has escaped the position, nice work there. Thomas tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Glick wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Glick trying to control the action but Thomas is working from the bottom. Glick looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Thomas is avoiding damage well.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Thomas throws a nice head kick!
Glick misses with a body shot.
Thomas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Glick counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Thomas is not content to let Glick control the position. Glick is trying to work for a kimura but Thomas is defending well.

Glick wants to lay and pray for a moment but Thomas keeps working. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Glick in particular looking to stall. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Glick showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Glick wants to sweep here but Thomas controlling him for the moment. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Glick can do anything to dispel that myth. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Glick throws a body kick that misses. Thomas swings for the body but Glick moves out of range.
Glick feints and as Thomas raises his hands in defense, Glick changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Glick trying to control but Thomas is working from the bottom. Thomas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Glick gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Glick wants to control from the top but Thomas keeps moving. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Glick's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Glick is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Thomas is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Thomas has escaped and now he's on top!

Glick has control of Thomas's left arm, preventing Thomas from doing any damage. Thomas slips nicely into half guard. Glick is looking for a sweep. Thomas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Glick has his hands clasped together around Thomas's back. He's all about the action.

Glick is not content to let Thomas control the position. Thomas has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Glick defend it? Thomas steps over the head and cranks it - Glick is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Thomas!
