Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alex Guy!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Travers is looking to clinch.
Travers tries to work over Guy's front leg with a kick but Guy checks it.
Travers tries to clinch there but Guy circles away.

Travers feints and as Guy raises his hands in defense, Travers changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Guy wants to sweep here but Travers controlling him for the moment.
Guy keeping moving, preventing Travers from controlling successfully.
Travers trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Travers has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Travers missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Travers tries to free his leg and advance position but Guy is retaining full guard.
Guy is trying to control the position but Travers postures up.
Guy looking for a sweep. Not yet Guy, not yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Guy tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Travers chips away with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Travers postures up in Guy's guard and throws a big left but Guy blocks it.
Travers trying to control the position from guard on top but Guy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Guy is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Travers postures up and lands a big shot to Guy's brow.
Travers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Guy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Guy has a closed guard, preventing Travers from standing up.
Travers tries to free his leg and advance position but Guy is retaining full guard.
Guy wants to improve his position but instead Travers has moved into half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Travers wants to take a breather but Guy is having none of it.

Guy is looking for a sweep. Travers is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Travers is thwarting Guy's attempts to control the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Travers closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Travers lands in his opponent's guard.
Travers's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Travers could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Travers wants to stand but Guy is controlling his posture from full guard.

Guy is looking for a triangle but Travers pushes his legs off easily.

Travers is looking to take a break and control but Guy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Travers is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Guy has escaped the position, nice work there.

Travers has his takedown stuffed

and Guy counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Travers's guard now.
Travers managing to control the position.
Travers looking to hit a scissor sweep but Guy is one step ahead there.
Guy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Travers manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Guy manages to get himself to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Guy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Travers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Travers manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Guy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Travers is one step ahead there.
Guy trying to keep a closed guard but Travers is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Travers wants to stand and escape but instead Guy has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Travers is pulling down on Guy's head to control his posture.
Travers is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Guy trying to control the position from guard on top but Travers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Travers keeping full guard, as Guy tries to pass.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Guy shoots and misses

and Travers decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Guy's guard.
Travers advances position into side control!

Travers tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Guy tries to buck Travers off but Travers is having none of it.
Bobby Travers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Travers looks up at the clock and then as Guy takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Travers smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

You can see the frustration on Guy's face as Travers controls the position.
Guy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Travers wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Travers works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Guy tries to improve position but can't.

Travers stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Travers looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Guy!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Travers perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Guy is looking for a sweep. Travers is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Guy is trying to get back to full guard.
Guy trying to control but Travers postures up.
Guy is in trouble now - Travers has advanced to mount!

Travers gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Travers shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Bobby Travers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Guy sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Travers in particular looking to stall.

Guy is looking to control Travers's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Guy avoid being mounted?
Travers tries to stand and escape but Guy actually recovers to full guard.

Travers is pushing down on Guy's leg trying to pass to half guard. Guy is fighting to maintain full guard but Travers has managed to sneak the leg through.

Guy gets back to full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Travers seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Travers wants to control from the top but Guy keeps moving.

Well Travers has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
