The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tomas throws a looping overhand right but Everson ducks down to avoid it.
Everson takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Tomas misses with a series of wild punches.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Everson might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Tomas has got the better of the exchanges.

Tomas bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Tomas is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Everson closes the distance and clinches up with Tomas, looking for a takedown. Everson pushes Tomas against the cage but Tomas circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Everson wants to work for an arm triangle but Tomas is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Everson wants to pass the guard but Tomas is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tomas is pressing down on Everson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tomas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
