The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LaRue throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Brutus misses with a takedown attempt - LaRue sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A head kick from Brutus lands but LaRue takes it in his stride.
Brutus clinches.
Brutus breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Brutus gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
It looks like Big Brutus has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brutus tries to clinch up but LaRue circles away and keeps his distance.
Brutus buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
LaRue throws a leg kick but Brutus sees it coming and moves out of range.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Brutus.
LaRue drives through with a takedown into guard.
Brutus seems keen to control LaRue's posture.

LaRue wants to control from the top but Brutus keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and LaRue decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Brutus's guard.
Jaques LaRue has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Big Brutus.
LaRue is breathing heavily.
Brutus keeping moving, preventing LaRue from controlling successfully.
Brutus had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. LaRue is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Brutus Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take LaRue's back instead.
LaRue trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
LaRue knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brutus on the ground.
LaRue is taking damage to the body and head.
LaRue looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
LaRue prevents Brutus from getting a body triangle.
LaRue really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
You can see the frustration on LaRue's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

LaRue tries to break free.
Brutus has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. LaRue is defending well but eventually Brutus manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! LaRue has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
