Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Burdon Ambler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Burgos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burdon Ambler has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Burdon Ambler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pedro Burgos! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burgos shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Burgos fails with a takedown attempt. Left hook, right uppercut from Ambler. Ambler really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ambler throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Burgos fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ambler avoids it really well and circles away. Burdon Ambler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pedro Burgos. Ambler gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Burgos counters with a single leg into guard. Ambler didn't expect that. Burgos thows a big elbow that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burgos working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Burgos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Burgos lands a couple of decent looking shots. Ambler escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Burgos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burgos trying to control but Ambler is working from the bottom. Burgos postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Ambler wants to sweep but no luck. Ambler looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ambler avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Burgos throws and elbow that misses. Ambler uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Burgos's guard. Nice move by Ambler! A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Burgos holds on and takes a little breather. Ambler looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burgos looking for a sweep. Not yet Burgos, not yet. Burgos keeping full guard, as Ambler tries to pass. Burgos trying to keep a closed guard but Ambler is proving a slippery customer.
Ambler loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Ambler will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ambler lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Burgos circles away quickly and effectively. Burgos slips a jab and a cross from Ambler.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burgos doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ambler counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Burgos is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Ambler wants to control from the top but Burgos keeps moving. Burgos wants to stand up but Ambler is controlling him. Ambler is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Ambler is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burgos is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ambler is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Burgos is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Burgos has escaped and now he's on top! Ambler wants to stand up but Burgos is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burgos working some strikes from top position. Burgos is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Burgos pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ambler is keeping the position for now. Burgos distracts Ambler with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Pedro Burgos will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Burgos doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Burgos takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Burgos shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ambler counters with a one-two to the body. Burgos tries for a takedown but Ambler circles away easily and Ambler counters with a nice double leg into guard. Burgos keeping moving, preventing Ambler from controlling successfully. Burgos pulls Ambler in close to prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ambler pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Burgos is keeping the position for now. Ambler has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Burgos is proving hard to escape from. Ambler works a leg free and moves into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ambler is working for a submission of some sort.
Burgos actively working from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Burgos is looking to control Ambler's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Burgos avoid being mounted? Ambler is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ambler is working for a kimura but Burgos is defending it quite comfortably.
Burgos is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burgos controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Burgos wants to improve his position but Ambler is controlling well.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ambler gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burgos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Burgos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Ambler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Burgos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Ambler is tightening it up a little... Burgos has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Burgos reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Burgos taps out! nice BJJ there by Ambler!
