Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Reza Game (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Ko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brian Ko!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ko shoots in and drives through. Game sprawls well.

Ko scores a takedown into full mount!
Ko pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

Ko wants to finish this one by submission but Game is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ko.

Ko working for a guillotine from mount but Game is in no mood to give up.
Game holds on for dear life, controlling Ko's posture momentarily.
Game is looking to get to half guard.

Game is squirming around, avoiding Ko's attempts to control the action.
Game is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Game has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Game manages to reverse the position and now he's in Ko's guard. Nice work there by Game.
Game in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Game landing some decent shots from guard.
Game advances position into side control!
Ko is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Game's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Game is thwarting Ko's attempts to control the position.
Game trying to pass the guard but Ko defending well.
Ko trying to hold on to Game's head to control him but Game postures up.
Ko gets full guard.
Game looking to pass the guard.

Ko looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ko looks gassed!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ko is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Game keeping moving, preventing Ko from controlling successfully.
Game is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Game is pulling down on Ko's head. It's preventing any offense from Ko, at least for the moment.
Game bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ko's guard.
Ko is trying to keep Game in close.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Game accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ko trying to keep a closed guard but Game is proving a slippery customer.
Game wants to control from the top but Ko keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ko keeps the fight on the outside.

Game changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ko looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Ko manages to get back to half guard.
Ko controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Game is thwarting Ko's attempts to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Brian Ko will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


The fight stays on the outside here - Game looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Ko shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Game tries to hold on but Ko postures up.
Game looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Game trying to control the action but Ko just sinks the hooks in.

Ko is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Ko keeps control of the position as Game tries to break free.
Ko slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

I really don't envy Game right now.
Game is keeping busy.
Game trying to control the position but Ko manages to sink in the hooks.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Game is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Game prevents Ko from getting a body triangle.

A lull in the action here.

Let's hope that Ko has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Game is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Ko controlling the position well here. Game rolled but Ko kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Ko has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Ko throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
Ko lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Ko.
Game holding both Ko 's hands and preventing any damage.
cage is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Game.

Game tries to escape but Ko has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Ko doesn't have the hooks in and Game manages to turn into his guard.
Ko wants to sweep but no luck.
Ko wants to hit a switch here but Game passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Ko there!
Ko is wriggling around trying to escape.
Game with a couple of short strikes.

Game is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Ko has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Ko!
Ko is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Ko slips nicely into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Brian Ko has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ko lands with a punch from half guard.
Ko looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Game with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Ko is controlling the pace.
Ko passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Game!
Ko prevents Game from getting the reversal.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brian Ko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Game tries to keep at a distance but Ko has taken the fight into the clinch.

Ko breaks from the clinch.
Game lands a right hook to the body.
Game throws a right hand that Ko ducks under and follows up with a left that Ko also avoids with ease.

Game clinches with his opponent.
Game tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ko smiles and moves away.

and Game counters with an inside leg kick.

and Ko counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Ko keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Ko decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Game misses with a two punch combination.

and Ko decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Game's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ko wants to control from the top but Game keeps moving.
Game is trying to control the position but Ko postures up.
Game throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Ko is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Game looking for a sweep. Not yet Game, not yet.
Game seems keen to control Ko's posture.
Game trying to control the position.
Game keeping moving, preventing Ko from controlling successfully.
Game wants to stand but Ko is controlling the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

I've got Ko winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
