PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pulla Sorsa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barney Stinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Barney Stinson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pulla Sorsa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Barney Stinson!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sorsa tries to clinch there but Stinson circles away.
Sorsa doesn't manage to clinch there - Stinson circles away.
Sorsa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Stinson.

Sorsa tries to keep at a distance but Stinson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sorsa has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Stinson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Sorsa misses with a knee strike.

Stinson showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Stinson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Sorsa is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Stinson dives into side control.
Sorsa is trying to escape the position but Stinson is controlling the position.
Stinson tries to score with some ground and pound. Sorsa controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stinson lands an elbow.
Sorsa is looking to regain half guard here but Stinson keeps moving and retains side control.
Stinson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Sorsa is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Stinson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Stinson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sorsa is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sorsa and Stinson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Sorsa tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Stinson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stinson in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Sorsa wants to control but Stinson postures up.

Stinson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sorsa, who protects the arm well.

The ground and pound from Stinson seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The strikes coming from Stinson are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Stinson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Stinson in side control, throwing shots but Sorsa defends.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sorsa misses with a takedown

and Stinson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sorsa's guard now.
Sorsa not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Stinson looking to sit in guard and control but Sorsa gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Sorsa trying to control but Stinson is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Stinson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Stinson showed some decent athleticism there.
Stinson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Sorsa!

Stinson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Stinson is breathing heavily.
Sorsa tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Sorsa tries to lock up and control but Stinson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Stinson trying to control but Sorsa is having none of it.
Stinson prevents Sorsa from getting the reversal.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Stinson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Sorsa is looking to improve his position but Stinson isn't that keen on the idea.

Sorsa is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Sorsa keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Sorsa holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Stinson tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Stinson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sorsa tries to reverse the position but Stinson maintains control.

Stinson looking to control but Sorsa is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Sorsa tries to hold on but Stinson postures up.

Barney Stinson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Stinson shoots in for a takedown but Sorsa shows good takedown defense.
Sorsa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sorsa throws a body kick that misses.
Sorsa tries a head kick but it misses.
Sorsa tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stinson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stinson moves out of range of the body kick from Sorsa.
Pulla Sorsa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Stinson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Stinson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Stinson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Stinson is landing with some decent strikes but Sorsa is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Sorsa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stinson keeps working.

so Stinson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sorsa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Pulla Sorsa has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stinson is not content to let Sorsa control the position.

Sorsa is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Stinson sees it coming and defends easily.

Barney Stinson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Stinson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
