Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between rocky boxxer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and heavy weight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, rocky boxxer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, heavy weight!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Chad Campbell and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
boxxer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. weight defends it nicely.
boxxer tries to clinch but weight moves out of range.
weight is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
boxxer sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
weight fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but boxxer avoids it really well and circles away.
boxxer doesn't succeed with the takedown
and weight counters with a nice uppercut.
A decent looking body kick lands there for weight.
weight misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
weight throws a series of punches but boxxer moves out of range.

weight drives through with a takedown into guard.
weight stopping the sweep attempt from boxxer.
boxxer is breathing heavily.

boxxer has an active guard here but weight has managed to pass into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

weight stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows boxxer to get to his feet.
weight shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and boxxer counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
weight has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. boxxer is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
rocky boxxer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of heavy weight.
weight is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. boxxer is defending well for now.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.
boxxer fails to pull the fight into his guard.

boxxer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
boxxer throws a head kick that misses

and weight decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in boxxer's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
boxxer is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and weight dives into side control.

weight decides to take the fight back to the feet.
boxxer moves out of range as weight strikes.
weight thuds a left hand into boxxer's body.
boxxer with a poor takedown

and weight counters by moving into the clinch.

weight breaks from the clinch.
boxxer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
weight tries for a takedown but boxxer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

weight shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
weight trying to control the position from guard on top but boxxer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
boxxer keeping full guard, as weight tries to pass.
weight looking to sit in guard and control but boxxer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
weight keeping moving, preventing boxxer from controlling successfully.
weight wants to sweep but no luck.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
boxxer trying to control the position from guard on top but weight is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
boxxer is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because weight is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
weight lands a head kick!

boxxer drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
boxxer sitting in guard, not really doing much.
weight is trying to control the position but boxxer postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


weight throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by boxxer.

weight changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. boxxer looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
weight misses with the ground and pound.
boxxer tries to bench press weight off him but weight keeps the position.
boxxer struggling a bit here.
boxxer is looking to reverse the position.
boxxer is working hard here to advance position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
weight trying to control the position but boxxer is working away.
boxxer seems a little lost for a moment, as weight dominates the positioning.
boxxer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

boxxer moves into the clinch.
boxxer gets through weight's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
boxxer is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.

weight goes for a takedown in the clinch but boxxer prevents it.
weight fails to pull the fight into his guard.
boxxer wants a takedown.
weight tries to pull guard but boxxer won't allow it.
rocky boxxer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of heavy weight.
weight swings away with an uppercut that misses.
weight is trying to stall.
boxxer keeps the fight in the clinch, despite weight's efforts to push away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

weight escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
weight fails with the takedown

and boxxer counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
weight tries to stall but boxxer uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

boxxer manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
weight wants to get up but he can't break boxxer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
boxxer seems keen to control weight's posture.
weight missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

weight is sitting in close to boxxer's body. boxxer has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! weight is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, weight is tapping! That was a very nice submission by boxxer.
