Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ulysses Pereira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Sult Thai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ulysses Pereira! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Al Sult Thai! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thai throws a body punch but Pereira moves out of range. Thai displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pereira. Pereira swats away the attempt to clinch by Thai. Thai fails in his attempt to clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - Thai looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Al Sult Thai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pereira shoots in for a takedown but Thai shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Thai misses with a takedown and Pereira counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Thai's guard now. Pereira trying to control the position from guard on top but Thai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pereira thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Thai wants to sweep here but Pereira controlling him for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thai keeping full guard, as Pereira tries to pass. Thai looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Thai is looking to stand up but Pereira isn't so interested in that idea. Pereira wants to pass the guard but Thai is keeping the position. Thai wants to control the position but Pereira says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Thai is defending against the submission attempts here by Pereira.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Thai rushes Pereira and presses him up against the cage. Thai is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Thai pushes off an throws an elbow but Pereira leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Pereira pulls Thai into guard.
Thai pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pereira is keeping the position for now. Thai throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Thai controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pereira is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Thai passes easily into side control. Nice work. Thai is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Pereira's shoulder. That is not cool. You can see the frustration on Pereira's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Thai cracks Pereira with a big right hand but Pereira just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Thai looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Pereira is avoiding damage well.
Pereira throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. Pereira is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Pereira is breathing heavily. Pereira is working hard here to advance position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Thai closes the distance and clinches. Pereira decides to pull guard. Thai trying to control the position from guard on top but Pereira is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Thai avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Pereira is trying to control the position but Thai postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ulysses Pereira dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Pereira tries to keep at a distance but Thai has taken the fight into the clinch. Thai can't break the clinch.
Thai has had enough of the clinch but Pereira keeps him there for the moment. Pereira is working for takedown but Thai is calmly controlling the position for now. Thai tries to pull guard but Pereira holds him up against the cage and eventually Thai drops back down to his feet.
Thai is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Thai is trying to drag Pereira to the mat but Pereira just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Ulysses Pereira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Al Sult Thai. Pereira has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Thai is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thai is trying to break the clinch but Pereira has him pressed against the cage. Thai tries to break the clinch but Pereira is controlling the position. Thai is fighting off a takedown attempt but Pereira is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Thai to the mat. Thai regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Pereira is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Thai is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Thai has escaped and now he's on top! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thai trying to control but Pereira is working from the bottom. Pereira throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Thai controlling from the top position. Pereira working for a triangle but Thai defends it easily.
Pereira had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Thai is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pereira Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Thai's back instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Thai is trying to get back to his feet but Pereira has full control of the position and if anything, Thai has just worked his way into a worse spot. Thai defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Pereira is not going to allow Thai to sit and survive in this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thai tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Thai tries to lock up and control but Pereira gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Thai is trying desperately to improve position. Pereira wants to finish this one by submission but Thai is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Pereira. Thai is working to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pereira goes for an armbar but Thai turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Thai. Thai lands a couple of digs. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Thai slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Thai is looking to take a break and control but Pereira is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Al Sult Thai will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Thai lands with a nice body kick. Pereira fails with a takedown attempt. Thai closes the distance looking to clinch and Pereira counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Pereira lands a nice short elbow. Thai wants to get back to his feet.
Pereira throwing shots but Thai is blocking nicely. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pereira thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Thai's head. Thai moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Thai is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Thai is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Pereira is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Thai pulls his head out easily. Pereira is trying to stand.
Thai is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Pereira has managed to free his arm - good work. Pereira regains full guard. Nicely done. Pereira looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Pereira looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pereira escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Thai gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Thai trying to control the position from guard on top but Pereira is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pereira has his foot on Thai's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thai works his way back into a safe position though. Pereira controls Thai momentarily but Thai frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Thai moves into the clinch successfully.
Pereira prevents Thai from breaking the clinch. Thai blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Thai throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Pereira gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Pereira throwing strikes but missing. Pereira has gone for a leg lock! Thai slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pereira's guard. Thai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pereira swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Ulysses Pereira showed his dominance in that final round. I think Pereira has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
