Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darren Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adon Amossou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Darren Burns! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Adon Amossou! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burns shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Amossou's guard. Burns trying to control but Amossou is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burns passes easily into side control. Nice work. Burns in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Amossou pushes Burns away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Burns gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Amossou is trying to control Burns's posture but Burns avoids it. Burns wants to control but Amossou is keeping him busy. Burns will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Amossou is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Burns has just dragged him back down to the mat. Burns has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Burns cracks Amossou with a big elbow. Amossou is not content to let Burns control the position. Burns working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloppy strikes there by Burns. Burns lands a decent elbow from side control. Burns throws an elbow but Amossou slips to the side and avoids it well. Burns thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Burns goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Amossou rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Burns's guard! Nice work there by Amossou! Burns is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Amossou defends well. Burns looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Amossou has picked Burns up and slammed him! Burns can't keep hold of the triangle and Amossou manages to pass to side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burns can't do much from the bottom here. Burns is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Amossou wants to control but Burns is keeping him busy. Amossou is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Burns has escaped the position, nice work there. Burns is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burns is working hard here to advance position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Amossou thows a left - swing and a miss! Burns throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Amossou. Amossou throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Burns's waist but Burns gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Amossou off to one side. Burns tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Amossou slips a jab and a cross from Burns.
Burns connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Burns swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Burns shoots for a takedown but Amossou saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Burns is breathing heavily. Amossou throws a sloppy head kick and Burns moves out of range easily. Amossou throws a body kick that misses. Nice takedown defense from Amossou. No joy for Burns on that attempt. Amossou keeps Burns at a distance using the push kick. A head kick misses from Amossou. Burns blocks the body kick.
Amossou fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Burns. Amossou sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Burns to the ground! Amossou dives into full mount looking to finish! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Burns is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Amossou putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Amossou lands a big elbow. Amossou wants to finish this one by submission but Burns is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Amossou. Amossou avoids the attempt from Burns to control. Burns can't escape the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Amossou is landing with some decent strikes but Burns is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Amossou working for a guillotine from mount but Burns is in no mood to give up. Burns wants to control but Amossou is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Adon Amossou dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Burns looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Amossou is fending him off so far but Burns persists. Nope, Amossou circles away and we're back to standing. Darren Burns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Amossou connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Burns avoids the head kick by Amossou.
Burns throws a one two combo.

Darren Burns is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Amossou tries to land a front kick but Burns steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Amossou tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Burns throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Burns moves out of range of the body kick from Amossou.
Amossou drops his hands momentarily and Burns takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Amossou tries to keep at a distance but Burns has taken the fight into the clinch. Amossou has had enough of the clinch but Burns keeps him there for the moment. Burns has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Amossou regains guard immediately. Burns drops back looking for a leg! Amossou is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Amossou manages to kick Burns off! Burns jumps back into Amossou's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burns trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Amossou manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Burns keeping moving, preventing Amossou from controlling successfully. Burns working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Amossou. Amossou postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Burns is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Burns wants to control but Amossou is keeping him busy. Burns looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Burns is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Burns is trying to control. Amossou wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burns wants to pass to mount but Amossou is defending the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Amossou looks like he's trying to stand up.
Amossou is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Burns clinches. Amossou wants to break free but Burns has control.
Amossou prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Burns is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Amossou pulls him back up using the underhooks. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darren Burns. That's going to take a lot out of him. Amossou trying to control the position but instead, Burns has worked for underhooks and has pushed Amossou into the cage. Amossou jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Burns walks away with a smile on his face. Amossou gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Amossou gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Burns to score an easy takedown into full guard. Burns lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Burns gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Amossou slips under a jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Darren Burns dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Amossou tries a head kick but it misses.
A solid body kick from Amossou. Amossou throws a lazy head kick and Burns counters with a stiff right hand. Amossou throws a body kick that misses. Burns shoots in and drives through. Amossou sprawls well. Amossou fails with the takedown. Amossou tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Amossou avoids a punch combination nicely.
Amossou scores with a head kick.
Amossou lands with a nice body kick. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Amossou. Burns shrugs it off though. Burns fails with an attempt to clinch.
Amossou throws a half hearted mid kick. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Amossou fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Amossou walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Adon Amossou seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burns shoots in and drives through. Amossou sprawls well. Amossou scoring well with a low kick there.
Burns blocks a head kick by Amossou.
Burns lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A lazy left from Burns finds it's target. Amossou takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Amossou moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Burns lands with a kick to the ribs.
Burns will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Amossou tries to land a front kick but Burns steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Amossou throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Burns dives in and grabs Amossou's left leg, looking for a takedown. Amossou pushes down on Burns's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darren Burns. That's going to take a lot out of him. Amossou has a takedown stuffed. Amossou pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burns throws a combination that misses and Amossou counters with a nice body kick. The fighters circle momentarily. Burns darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Amossou misses with a takedown attempt and Burns counters with a stiff right hand. Burns lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Amossou pushes Burns away with a front kick. Burns cracks Amossou with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Burns throws a head kick that misses. Burns is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Amossou throws a body kick that misses. Amossou takes a head kick and keeps coming.
A chopping leg kick lands by Amossou. Amossou throws a head kick that Burns semi-blocks.
A combination from Burns does no damage. Amossou throws a lazy head kick and Burns counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Burns rushes Amossou and presses him up against the cage. Amossou prevents a takedown attempt there.
Amossou throws a knee to the head but misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amossou with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Amossou is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Burns is defending well for now. Amossou is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Amossou gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Burns.
Amossou jumps into guard, dragging Burns to the mat.
Amossou working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Burns doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Burns manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Burns pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Amossou is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Burns seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Burns trying to control but Amossou is working from the bottom. Burns drops back, looking for a kneebar! Amossou looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Amossou looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Amossou! Burns gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Adon Amossou comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Amossou has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
