PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sebastian Audi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Mack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mack has chosen I'm in Love With a Stripper as his entrance music. Chad Mack will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Audi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Audi closes the distance and clinches up with Mack, looking for a takedown. Audi pushes Mack against the cage but Mack circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mack looks to score with a jab to the body but Audi is just out of range.
No joy there for Mack, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mack swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mack misses with a looping right.

Audi shoots in for a takedown but Mack shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Audi. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Chad Mack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mack is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mack slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Audi is trying to control the action in half guard but Mack is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Mack regains full guard. Nicely done.
Audi with a flurry of punches that miss.
Audi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mack swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mack is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Audi wanted to stand there but Mack had control of the position.

Mack might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Audi kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mack connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Mack scores with a sloppy right hand. Audi should have avoided that one.
Mack looks to land a combination but Audi avoids it well.

Mack really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Audi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Audi is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mack sees it coming and defends easily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Mack makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mack.

Audi postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mack is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Audi, into his guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mack avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Mack stands and steps away. Audi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Audi has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Mack finds it's way round the side to connect with Audi's head.

Mack gets caught flat footed, as Audi shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mack takes a swing at Audi's ribcage but misses.

Mack wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Chad Mack is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
A left and a right from Mack both land. Nice combination.
Mack fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Audi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mack looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Sebastian Audi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Audi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Audi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sebastian Audi.
I think Mack has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
