Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugh Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). penn has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
penn shoots in and drives through. Jack sprawls well.
penn looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Jack with a lazy takedown attempt
and penn counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
penn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Jack manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. penn manages to get himself to full guard.

Jack wants to get up but he can't break penn's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Jack tries to score a power double leg takedown but penn sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jack somewhat.
Jack lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Jack.
It looks like Jason penn has been cut.
Jack shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has penn pinned against the cage. penn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jason penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hugh Jack.

Jack tries to close the distance and clinch up but penn swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Jason penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
penn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

penn throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

and penn counters with a shoot takedown. Jack fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

penn tries to free his leg and advance position but Jack is retaining full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
penn stops Jack from standing up.
penn looking to sit in guard and control but Jack gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
penn has his takedown stuffed
letting Jack counter with a right hand.
penn is looking to score with low kicks.
penn circles away from the clinch attempt.
penn blocks a leg kick.
penn walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Jack is looking to clinch but penn is avoiding it.
Jack tries to clinch but penn moves out of range.
penn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jack sprawls well. Jack wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. penn gets slowly back to his feet.
Jack slaps away a takedown attempt from penn, before circling back to the center of the mat.

penn changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jack looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
penn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jack keeps working.

Jack wants to control but penn is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jack is refusing to be controlled, as penn sits in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
penn takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Jack moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

and penn counters with a single leg into guard. Jack didn't expect that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
penn throws and elbow that misses. Jack uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in penn's guard. Nice move by Jack!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
penn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

penn looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jack is one step ahead there.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jack accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

penn thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jack's head.
Jack won't allow penn to pass to mount.
penn is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Jack has managed to free his arm - good work.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
penn tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jack swivels and escapes.
Jack slips a jab and a cross from penn.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

penn's corner is telling him to maintain position.

penn seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for penn, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
