Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lurppa Korva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Plezts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alex Plezts struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 187.7lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Plezts! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Plezts shoots in but Korva avoids the takedown attempt easily. Korva bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Plezts's head.
It looks like Alex Plezts has been cut. Plezts is trying hard to land a takedown here. Korva sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Korva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Korva tries to free his leg and advance position but Plezts is retaining full guard. Korva drops back looking for a leg! Plezts is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Plezts manages to kick Korva off! Korva jumps back into Plezts's guard. Korva looking to sit in guard and control but Plezts gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Korva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Korva trying to control from half guard but Plezts is working away. Korva wants to stand but Plezts has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Plezts looks like he's trying to stand up.

Plezts looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Korva puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Korva wants to pass to mount but Plezts is defending the position. Plezts actively working from the bottom here. Korva is looking for a kimura here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Plezts actively working from the bottom here. Korva is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Plezts works his way to full guard. Good work. Korva passes Plezts's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Plezts trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Plezts shoots and misses and Korva counters with a lovely straight right hand! Korva fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Plezts looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Lurppa Korva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Plezts shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Korva defends it nicely. Lurppa Korva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Plezts. Korva gets a takedown into half guard. Korva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Plezts is just riding it out for now. Korva eventually gives up the hold. Korva is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
